Would you please stop throwing these wild conjectures around without giving some sort of reasoning and an explanation as to why anyone should take such a consequential statement seriously? I'm not asking you for a name and social security number but if you're going to say that "a big law source" said something, you need to explain the type of big law source and why they said whatever they said.opX wrote:sorry guys, i am not dropping names. The only thing I've ever heard or read is that many recruiters like transfers because it shows hard work and initiative. "Big law sources" is also a bit vague for my comfort.
The bottom line is, some law firms will not hiring transfers this year, or at least substantially raising the threshold. Prepare yourselves however you see fit.
Telling everyone on a transfer forum that "some law firms will not [be] hiring transfers this year, or [will be] ... substantially raising the threshold" is irresponsible if you're not going to take the time to thoroughly explain. There is a difference between saying that transfers are generally less marketable than other students at the school (which we already know) and saying that for some unknown reason, next year, firms have suddenly decided that transfer students are more undesireable and flat out will not be hiring them. Why next year? Did they ever hire transfers? Increasing what threshold (the grades from their old school or new one?) Do you have any idea what you're actually talking about or are you just trying to be a flame?
