Click on Orientation, then Transfer students. It's there.JRD wrote:All the stuff I found seemed geared toward LLM students or international students?starchinkilt wrote:Orientation info is up for transfers on the ASW.
There is basically a schedule for the 29th and then a day of optional activities (although I'm wondering if some of the optional stuff is basically a cross-over with regular orientation; because I don't think transfers need to go to a session on "How to Read a Case"

Thanks... I must have been in the international students admitted site. It kept talking about adjusting to life in the U.S.

Quick question regarding OCI bidding/applications:
I'm only getting the idea that we only apply/bid using our resume. Is that true? Or do we need to be submitting cover letters, writing samples, and other documents? I don't see any requests by the firms, and at the school I'm coming from the employer would state the documents they wanted.

Just the resume. Bring your writing sample and transcript to your interviews. No need for cover letter, lawstudento wrote:Quick question regarding OCI bidding/applications:

Aug 1st was the Environmental/Administrative deadline. I got a reply from them a day after sending them an e-mail. This one was due July 28th at 11:59pm. Glad to hear I'm not the only one (unless they forgot us bothkeg411 wrote:I thought it said 8/1. If you ask, the Environmental/Administrative guy will send you a number. I think he forgot about the date thing because I asked after he received my e-mail and he just sent it to me.starchinkilt wrote:Aug 1st was the Environmental/Administrative deadline. yeah i got my MJPVL application around midnight or so. Are any of you planning on doing the LR writing comp? I want to, but I can't see really putting in that much time for such a slim shot at making it..starchinkilt wrote:Looks like they did wait until the last minute. Yeah, I got the LR packet, but don't know if I'm going to do it. Writing all these applications for the secondaries is already taking forever now that there are 8 of them. Plus the editors told me they all take a bunch of transfers. If you do all the secondary applications I hear you usually get one.crazyblink653 wrote:yeah i got my MJPVL application around midnight or so. Are any of you planning on doing the LR writing comp? I started it, mostly because the one I did for my school's competition was crappy and I want to see if I can figure out how to write these things. We'll see what happens.crazyblink653 wrote:yeah i got my MJPVL application around midnight or so. Are any of you planning on doing the LR writing comp? I'm doing all the secondaries as well. The staggering dates helps with that.

It shouldn't take that long. They all use the same citation exercise and have virtually the same standards for PS/Topic proposal.starchinkilt wrote:Yeah, I got the LR packet, but don't know if I'm going to do it. Alright, I'm confused.
I got the LR competition packet, and I got the MJPVL application in email as well.
I'm not seeing specific directions for the other journals beyond these. Where do I find out the particular requirements for the other journals?

That's right, now I remember seeing them there. I was looking in the law review competition packet because I could have sworn seeing them in there.keg411 wrote:They were included with my acceptance packet.lawstudento wrote:Alright, I'm confused.

Michigan seems to have a lot of paper-only types of resources, including the deposit and the journal materials.

Submitted all of the journals. Feels good to be done with that. Time to relax for 2 weeks before heading up

Re: Michigan Transfer Class of 2013
i think i could turn in a blank piece of paper for the write-on and still stand a better chance than with the crap i have written. it's much harder trying to do a write-on while working/moving/getting your life in order at new school than it is after finals when you have nothing else to do.JRD wrote:I hate you a little.
