Speaking of predictions of when decisions will be released, do we know for sure that the admits will all receive phone calls?

Re: Chicago ED 2011 Thread
It looks like they in the past they have called all admits in the morning/afternoon and then sent out the emails at the end of the day. My prediction is 5/10. Last year it was exactly one week after everyone went under review...traehekat wrote:Speaking of predictions of when decisions will be released, do we know for sure that the admits will all receive phone calls?

Re: Chicago ED 2011 Thread
I don't know if we can know that alladmitted students will receive a call, but it seemed to me like the vast majority received calls last year, followed by emails. Or at least voicemails if they didn't pick up.
I'll be an optimist and go with next Tuesday.
Though in my heart, I feel like Thursday is more likely.

There are still some of us who haven't gone under review, though. I'm not sure what that means.lawloser22 wrote:It looks like they in the past they have called all admits in the morning/afternoon and then sent out the emails at the end of the day. it could take longer too cause there may be more transfer apps this year (however, i've been told that the amount they have received has remained pretty steady for the few years they have been doing this)missinglink wrote:There are still some of us who haven't gone under review, though. About how many early decision apps do they normally receive?

Re: Chicago ED 2011 Thread
I had a mini freakout when I got a call from (312) area code. As i was picking it up, though, I remembered Hyde Park is (773).
I then told the woman on the phone that I wasn't interested in term life insurance right now.
In this thread (http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 7&t=118669), Mega says they accept 3-5 through ED. On their website it says they receive 150-200 transfer applications. If I had to guess, the proportion of ED applications probably isn't anymore than 50.
Unless you're truly committed to attending, it's a risk for a lot of people, who might have viable options elsewhere. Personally, it's really the only place I would transfer to at this point, so I'm entirely comfortable with the commitment. But I could see how other people might not be.
As I think has been mentioned previously, if you're competitive for Chicago ED, you've got options.
I should really stop worry about this and get back to reviewing the Dormant Commerce Clause. heh.

Just realized that the UChi 0L admission cycle played out a lot like ours is beginning to. It looks like just about everyone went under review three times before getting a decision - often in batches:

I think I'm already in the "reject" batch since I'm the only one who hasn't gone UR twice. Oh well.lawloser22 wrote:Just realized that the UChi 0L admission cycle played out a lot like ours is beginning to. Keep in mind that there are people with stats better than any of ours who have yet to go under review once...

No movement today.
I think my prediction that we'd see something this week is looking less and less likely, unless the review process really is very quick.

They seem to always announce when they will be releasing decisions via their twitter at UChicagoLawApps.DeSimone wrote:Do they tweet decisions?lawloser22 wrote:My phone is on loud and my twitter is on refreshtraehekat wrote:i'd be surprised if we heard anything this week. that would be very, very quick. i'm expecting some news around the 20th.missinglink wrote:No movement today.![]()

Decisions went out on May 17 last year. Can't imagine it being any later this time due to (a) fewer 0L apps and (b) the head start they took on reviewing transfers.traehekat wrote:i'd be surprised if we heard anything this week. that would be very, very quick. i'm expecting some news around the 20th.missinglink wrote:No movement today.![]()

UR 5/10 now also. Since I originally guessed we'd find out today and no one's mentioned a phone call, I'm now thinking Thursday. Please tell me no one got the call...

Thursday sounds right. IIRC, decisions went out 2 days after one of the UR updates last year.lawloser22 wrote:UR 5/10 now also. Since I originally guessed we'd find out today and no one's mentioned a phone call, I'm thinking Thursday.
EDIT: 3 days. However, it was update Friday --> decisions Monday. So my original guess of 5/11 has never looked better.
