Like, for example, if mods actually applied their same nonsensical and random banning across the board and didn't play favorites, you should at least be warned for this piece of crap post.disco_barred wrote:So the mods could potentially ban someone for derailing this pointless thread (which is probably better off in the lounge) by asking for real information? Makes sense.bwv812 wrote:Because sometimes the mods ban people, delete posts, or lock threads when they go off topic and sometimes they don't. It's an effort to get TLS more on topic, which is laudable, but it has rubbed a lot of people - especially regulars who are used to it being more freewheeling - the wrong way.A'nold wrote:Why would a mod ban someone for posting in "your" thread? That would be ridiculous.Soul Minded wrote:
Mods: please do not ban this poster. I give him/her permission to post this question in "my" thread.

Re: Predict A'nold's First Acceptance
I'm not in the loop here, but A'nold goes to a T3/4 and is in the top 15% of his class? No offense dude but why are you trying to transfer to begin with, it's likely that the only school you'd get into is L&C, but then you'd be starting over.
Are you in a state that has very few law schools, or in a saturated market? Does your school's top students feed into certain position, like clerkships with alumni, or firms with alumni?
I wish you all the best, but I think you are better off staying at your school and latching on anywhere after, then after a few years going solo. You might end up having to do personal injury to make ends meet but you have to do what you have to do to get by. Good Luck!

This is very lulzy. I still don't know what I am going to do school-wise, but if you look on transferapps databases from the past you'd see t3, top 14% peeps getting in many of the schools I applied to.elmagic wrote:I'm not in the loop here, but A'nold goes to a T3/4 and is in the top 15% of his class? The especially lulzy part is the "you might have to go into PI as a solo." This is like a huge DREAM of mine. There's no "have to" about it and this is actually one of the reasons I went to law school, and I interned at a very prestigeous PI firm this summer, and it ROCKED!

Well there you go if the transferapps database says so it must be.A'nold wrote:This is very lulzy. Re: Predict A'nold's First Acceptance
I wasn't being a jerk to you, just laughing at some of your assertions and assumptions. I applied to the t14 ones b/f I knew my rank, so no unrealistic hope there. The others are/were actually in my reach. For example, somebody this cycle was accepted to ND with almost identical stats. I just ended up on the ding side this year at many schools. There is no reason why I shouldn't have applied to schools like Hastings and Notre Dame.elmagic wrote:Well there you go if the transferapps database says so it must be.A'nold wrote:This is very lulzy. Out at Emory. The list in the poll is getting so small.

A'nold. LOCI's out stat! It's the Small Things that make a difference at this point. Tell them again that you are still sincerely interested! And that the school is and continues to be your top choice. Tie it in with how it would be a perfect place for you to raise a family in, i dont know- do whatever you can. If they know how bad you want it, they may act on it.
still wishin you the best of luck,

Haha, the ding was Emory's response to this exact kind of LOCI! I am still in a good position, for reasons I 100% could not say publicly, BUT, there is still a chance (insert dumb and dumber quote).
On a cooler note, I just won best brief in a state-wide competition and will be honored and everything (plus cash prize).
