Or (congratulations), it could make us feel nervous because you got in 26 minutes ago and we still haven't heard anything. Seriously though, I'm still incomplete - although they just asked me a question about my app, so perhaps they just haven't updated the status checker.

Accepted today, 12:32 email. Transfer cycle officially done. Brooklyn, Top 2% (within the top 10 students out of a 450 or so class).

Tray, forget about the damn status checker. I was admitted to the school last week, and my status checker still shows me as missing my transcript and dean's certification. The staff at the office told me over the phone that the site gets updated infrequently. Just call from now on.

Is it possible that my dean's cert from my undergrad institution could hold up my app?

It was sent to CLS on Monday (don't ask, my UG school was hell to deal with when it came to getting that filled out)

There isn't a box for that document on the status checker - and everything else is in. No adverse or disciplinary action against me in school ever...

It held up mine for a little while, so yes that is entirely possible.

Still havne't gotten my letter in the mail yet. Is there a form you need to mail in along with your deposit, or just a check? I want to mail in my deposit as quickly as possible to ensure OCI participation.

Anyone able to register succesfully for admitnet? I deposited like 6 hours ago (online via CC), can't yet register for admitnet yet.

I spoke with the office about that literally 5 minutes ago. Apparently it takes 5 to 7 business days for them to email us our student information and PID number. Which means, until then, no registering at admitnet, no pre-registration for classes, no housing, and no Financial Aid Questionnaire. Sigh...

Finally advised of my completeness. How I do wish that I had somehow done Harvard and Columbia's write-ons in the same week.

Congrats on the complete tray - I'll cross my fingers on the next step for you

My status checker also shows incomplete on an LOR although it's impossible that the letter didn't arrive there sometime last week. What do you recommend so far as that goes? Obviously it says that you should allow 3 weeks for the checker to update - but I don't feel that's applicable to the transfer season really as we're on a totally different timescale. Should I bother calling them sometime soon just to verify that they actually have received all my components? I'd hate to just assume everything made it, only to find out that something was actually missing. Normally I wouldn't call because it hasn't been THAT long, but it's tough because the timing is so crucial at this point

It's been really frustrating getting mine to Complete. I also am positive something was mailed early Last week, but Columbia sent an email saying they didnt have it (my College Dean's certification, of all things). It seems like they may have a pile of mail still to get to, and I'm just hoping it's in that pile. I did call, but unfortunately the person didn't know if they hadnt received it for sure, and if it would be processed and/or updated soon on the status checker.

Even, WesttoEast (and thanks for the well wishes), after I went complete, the status checker continues to say that my transcripts haven't arrived. A pretty key component to a transfer app, needless to say. So I would not put any stock in what that thing says. I called three times (and e-mailed once) before they were willing to act on my requests for info. The last time, I mentioned that I applied in May and someone who was nicer than the other people who had picked up said that that seemed like quite a long time to be incomplete, and that she'd check. So, if you did apply a long time ago, mention it. Other than that they were really intransigent. I said in one call that I'd e-mailed 11 days prior and no word, and the person goes, but that's only 6 business days!

intransigent . . . damn it bro. Just say unwilling. You know I had to look that shit up in my Funk & Wagnalls.

I had to look up the Funk & Wagnalls reference in my Funk & Wagnalls, so to speak. After that I looked up "intransigent."

Dude, you even have a fucking retro hipster dictionary. Actually I had this amazing 1923 Funk & Wagnall's when I was 12 but I don't know what I did with it. Anyways, intransigent and unwilling are different - intransigent is like, won't budge, unwilling... I mean, they're close, but intransigent is more of a sticking to a policy whereas an unwilling is like an unwilling to deviate from it.

Wow, well. From everything you've said, it seems like you're going to do well based on your law school performance alone - no matter what outcomes of this transfer app. Checking statuses this frequently isn't going to have a lick of difference in the outcome, I think this level of energy is better spent elsewhere perhaps. I mean, its kinda like checking the stock market over and over again.

You apply, you check once a week to make sure your application doesn't have missing components - an email for that suffices - if they don't respond within 3-4 days, e-mail again or call. I'm not sure what the deal is with all this neurotic obsession with shoveling an application down someone's throat, its not very professional - let alone useful. Rolling admissions is fine and all - but at the end of the day - you'll always have kids who are superstars (like you) who can toss an app on the very last day of the application process and get in - versus kids who show up early as the bird that got the worm - without the GPA to back it up, and who stay dormant till the application cycle runs its course, before they get rejected.

You're an elite law student, if I remember correctly - at or around the top of your class at a top 25 law school - you're going to be f.i.n.e., just get off the internet status checkers and live it up this summer, check your e-mail once a day - that should totally suffice.

^^ I'm just not like that, I'm afraid. Besides, I'm spending my "[not so] great summer" working for a Court of Appeals judge who doesn't even let us go to the library, but rather keeps us in his/her chambers all day. Besides writing memos (many of which the judge hasn't gotten to yet, so there's no time pressure), there's little else to do but to check up on the fate of my transfer applications.
