Just curious of what people think as I am beginning to doubt myself more and more as I wait.
Top 2% BLS, presumably grading onto law review, nominated for best 1L brief, RA last semester, clerkship with federal judge in NYC this summer
Applied to:
CLS
NYU

I think you have a decent shot, but there are a lot of people in the sixty schools ranked higher than yours who will also be applying to CLS / NYU. "mcastig4 wrote:Just curious of what people think as I am beginning to doubt myself more and more as I wait.

Yeah, that is pretty much what I figured, thanks. I think I have been writing too many memos as I originally thought of your use of brackets as completely normal.arstech wrote: I think you have a decent shot, but there are a lot of people in the sixty schools ranked higher than yours who will also be applying to CLS / NYU. "afely in" is overly optimistic in my view.

Re: Official Transfer What Are My Chances Thread
Hoping for advice here
Current:
School in lower 40s.
School only publishes top 10%, but well above that cutoff. Potential school could see that my GPA is near the summa cutoff, which is top 1%. Effectively, probably top 1-2% of class, i.e. top 5 students, but not reportable in that way.
LR decisions not out
Prior work experience
Applied:
H
S
Columbia
NYU
Mich
UVA

Possible but probably not, possible but probably not, 65% chance, 65% chance, extremely good odds, extremely good odds. Others might be more optimistic.transferALT wrote:Hoping for advice here

Alright, I've trolled around on these boards long enough... time to play:
Top 20% at 70-80. MC, excellent recs, deans list, masters degree, solid work experience.
Applied to:
NU
UIUC-- ties to the area
What do you think?
p.s. A'nold-- I'm a huge fan and would especially appreciate your input... Your good news is coming bud!

Re: Official Transfer What Are My Chances Thread
My thread opened up a can of worms!
NU-i think 25% chance. grades are just too low. if you were top 15% i would say above 50%
UIUC- IN very very high likelyhood of getting in.

I actually think that Sanpiero is right on on his predictions. I would say that you have a fair to good chance at UIUC though instead of fantastic. If you would have applied to more schools I'm sure you would have no problem landing multiple t25's but I do think your chances at UIUC are pretty good.
Good luck and keep us updated!

Re: Official Transfer What Are My Chances Thread
According to transfer Apps you should have a shot at Harvard while Yale maybe a little tough due to is small class size. You should be in at Boston though! Congrats on the good yearhabaptist wrote:top 4% at midwest T2, URM, federal judge internship / civil liberties firm internship for summer, LR grade on, Moot Court, several student groups, history of activism, compelling reason to transfer (fiance in the general area)
