Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
I say the odds are 60% that this list is part of the next "batch" of admits--and I'm sticking to the theory that each admitted batch was chosen arbitrarily.
That said, no guarantees, and to those who were deferred: Don't fret...All of you have another 'round' in regular admissions and nothing was totally "lost" here.

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
Not to burst anyone's bubble, but I went complete after the deadline and was accepted in the first wave.
(to be clear I made this post to dispel the notion they are going in order of completion... it's more likely arbitrary and a lot of you guys still UR have a great shot)

I dont think we have to "apply" again if deferred, correct? I am pretty sure we just send in second semester grades and whatever else we would like to add but dont do the actual formal application for regular action.

I know this kind of keeps getting asked, but, are the emails still coming out or did they all come out at roughly the same time?

And you're gunna bash me for that?
That said, like last year, there's probably a 2nd round of acceptances coming up. And a lot of you guys that got deferred are gunna make it in RD just fine (A'nold I'm looking at you!).
lol selloutjeff how many times are you going to edit that post in and out?

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
I think you are here to help indeed, but viewing that last message (divorced from the context and your past posts) naturally led to the conclusion that you were trolling around with the effect of actually bursting bubbles. That was not the case.
Apper, I think you are right about a) the second round of admissions and b) life going on for those who were deferred.

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
That would probably be the most awful thing to do (troll this thread). I'd hope those following it would know I wasn't doing that. I really don't understand how it qualifies as trolling, but ok. I'll let you guys be. GL everyone.

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
Yeah these theories (a lot which were started by me
) have no real basis other then guessing and speculation. If someone has info that they are totally false, I want it said on here.
I still think maybe they are doing some by school, since it doesn't seem like anyone from my school has got a decision.

What the hell guys? Apper is a great poster and a good friend on here to all of us that are trying to get in. He was an EA applicant and got in. Let's not get all bitter and resentful. This thread has been a great support group. Let's keep up the encouragement.
Btw- my deferral came at like 7:56 Pacific.

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
1) Apper, please don't leave because of anyone's post...You were definitively not trolling, I hope that was clear
2) They are definetely not picking by school, given that at least one from my school (T40s) DID get in via DR last week, it turned out. Thus, they are not picking by region. Moreover, they did not pick the 1st round admits by "better" credentials, at least not GPA, as the list above shows. I also doubt the 'softs' of this (second) group were in any way worse
That leaves the most reasonable presumption, in my view--arbitrariness.
