Ahhh got it, I have not gone through previous threads. But generally, is NYU doesn't start sending acceptances till mid to late July correct?fistfullofdollhairs wrote:If you're a weirdo like I am, you've combed through all previous threads and determined there is no discernible pattern when it comes to review dates.M_Law wrote:LoL...And here I was optimistic since I presumed I passed an initial round after being under review since June 24th. Re: NYU Transfer 2016
Mine was updated today too after first going UR last week. Don't know if it means anything though -- my Chicago application has similarly updated a couple of times since my interview and no news from them in almost 2 weeks. But then again, NYU apparently has already started sending out offers it appears, so this may be different.
When I called a couple of weeks ago I was informed that their process is not "rolling" in that having your application reviewed later doesn't disadvantage you because they don't send out decisions until after 7/1. Even though applications are reviewed as completed, those that are locks get offers regardless of when they submit/who else applies, and those that are in a tight pool are compared to one another after the 7/1 deadline and decisions are made at that time despite some applications having first been reviewed much earlier. Not sure how accurate this information was but it came from someone in their admissions office. If it's true then there is no reason for them to be delaying at least the first wave of admits longer than today/tomorrow, unless they plan on releasing all decisions at once. Maybe they're waiting for some people to withdraw due to their upcoming CLS deadline?

Ahh thanks for that. Columbia transfer app deadline is not until July 15th, so I imagine then it may not be for another 2-3 weeks before some of us hear from NYU. The wait sucks but its the bold reality...ilikechocolate wrote:Mine was updated today too after first going UR last week. Re: NYU Transfer 2016
That was sheer speculation. Also the deadline is not the same for all -- some CLS admits have deadlines later this week. I don't think they will wait because it's not a smart move on their end. Applicants that would choose CLS over NYU will withdraw regardless of if they receive their offer before or after their deadline. If NYU holds off on making their first round of offers then any offers they make following withdrawal of admits choosing other schools would be made super late and not give people enough time for OCI, moving, etc. The longer they wait the longer people have to respond, so admits will likely all keep the offers on the table until they hear from higher ranked schools, which generally take longer to release decisions.M_Law wrote:Ahh thanks for that. I also thought it was a good sign. Although mine has not been reviewed since the initial review on the 24thM_Law wrote:LoL...And here I was optimistic since I presumed I passed an initial round after being under review since June 24th. What are your stats if you don't mind sharing?
Yesterday they told me that most will hear back by mid July, but that the some students don't hear back until early August.

I feel you. Have you at least heard back from others? It helped me a little when I got acceptances from other schools, but it was only short lived since NYU is my first choiceJoscellin wrote:You're not alone. UR date changed to today. I am going to pretend that means good things instead of absolutely nothing.

All quiet on the NYU front?
Today seems like a rather slow day for acceptances.

Re: NYU Transfer 2016
What does your status say?
My status hasn't changed since June (by the way what does it look like, does it just change the date of the status checker?) so I e-mailed them and asked and also asked on timeline about applications and they just rudely said my status checker won't change until a decision is made the latest early August. Which is basically a lie since most peoples have updated on here

Yeah, we're basically in the same boat then. I submitted mine on 23/06/2016 and mine now says Application Under Review. It claims that my current status date is 06/07/2016, but I would have said that it went under review before that. So, I would have said that mine hasn't changed either, but I submitted well after you.Tala29 wrote:

I sincerely hope they aren't actually anticipating that this will take until early August. :/[/quote

Re: NYU Transfer 2016
I asked NYU to make decision before end of this week.
Got what seems to be standard response that they make decisions all the way to early August.

Transfer applicants offered admission to the Law School are eligible to apply for housing, and those enrolling at NYU School of Law may participate in Early Interview Week and may apply to participate in Law Review/Journals. Transfer applicants are not eligible for scholarships or need-based financial aid grants.
