Re: Stanford Transfers
Wow lisa, they obviously really want you after you withdrew! And wow, fantastic job on doing so well at Hastings. It is NOT easy to do well there, especially with how well the c/o 2014 did this past year.
So what'll it be now: Berkeley or Stanford?!
Edit: this is quite a dilemma for you! You did withdraw, but obviously the admissions committee didn't get that note. I'm interested to hear what your thoughts are now!

Re: Stanford Transfers
After consulting last year's thread, I think Stanford is operating on a one-day policy that releases all the decisions on one day. Absent extreme situations, there will be no more admits.

What about my quote above that said they do it over two days?
Any idea when we can expect the status checker to release us from our misery?

I did a time-specific search about threads in July 2010 and 2009. I don't find support for that quote.mileslibertatis wrote:What about my quote above that said they do it over two days?

Re: Stanford Transfers
Just did a search of 2011 and it looks like it all came out one one day. Although they seemed to let people linger a long time before putting out all the rejections (August).lockiller wrote:I did a time-specific search about threads in July 2010 and 2009. Re: Stanford Transfers
don't mean to hijack the thread but...
any record of how transfers from CCN--->S faired? That is, what would you guess one needed to be at CCN to have a good shot at S (provided they have a good reason for transferring)?

Re: Stanford Transfers
Honestly not sure, had personal reasons for withdrawing, but it's really hard to say no to Stanford. I have some serious thinking to do.
Guess they called my bluff on the whole withdrawing thing - but really, who wouldn't want a phone call from Ms. Deal?

I sincerely hope this is true. Ring, please...mileslibertatis wrote:http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... r#p4581158According to TLS posts of the past two years, Stanford has accepted people on July 14-16 (both years it was over only two days that people were accepted)
Maybe there is hope.

When the Dean called yesterday, I think she said they'd made their final decisions Monday night. Might have misunderstood though.

Congrats to everyone else who got admitted yesterday! Are you all planning to attend or are you still hashing it out?

It's past noon already. An essentially certified ding.

S is my top choice, and I thought I had a shot. Goodbye, the "happiest law school on earth".

Re: Stanford Transfers
not sure what your "personal reasons" for withdrawing are- i.e. how serious you are about attending- but I suggest you take steps to make sure they don't withdraw your application now that you've accepted. Oh, and congrats!lisavj wrote:Honestly not sure, had personal reasons for withdrawing, but it's really hard to say no to Stanford. I have some serious thinking to do.
