Some deadlines I've encountered will have some random time during the day. I'm just putting the final touches on my PS, but didn't want to make the stupid mistake of missing the deadline.
think i remember seeing language that implied it was by the end of the day (meaning midnight). don't think it would just be some random time. GET IT IN YO.

I was holding out hope that the last letter of rec would show up on LSAC, but no go.

Oh well, nothing to do but plow ahead. If I'm deferred, it'll be available then.

How many pages did everyone's PS come out to? I've gotten mine to three pages, and I'm actually fairly happy with it.

It's too bad I can't show it to any of my friends for comments. Everyone is knee deep into studying, and I haven't told a soul I'm doing this - well, except my parents of course.

I have a friend who's applying to there and I proofread his PS. We did our best to keep it under two.

I got my application in, and with plenty of time to spare - 1 hour.

I also trimmed my PS to 2 pages, which is why I went to the wire on this one. Now the waiting game. It shouldn't be too bad, as I have plenty to keep me busy right now. I have a sense that they seem to be moving faster than last year, and that we should hear back, positively or negatively, sooner than last year. I don't recall from the old threads that people went under review before the deadline.

About what proportion of Chicago's overall transfer apps would people guess are ED?

Anyways, good luck to everyone else who applied!

This guy. I'm still incomplete too, although I didn't get my app in until late.

I might send them a note and see what's up tomorrow, if the status checker still shows incomplete. Knowing my luck, something else probably went wrong with my materials.

I think it only updates once a day.

About how long did it take people to go complete? And following from that, complete to under review?

Well, hurry up and get your sht together. :) I have a feeling decisions will be released only when everyone's reviewed.

I'm on it! :)

If there's no status change tomorrow, I'll call the office and see what's up.

current status date changed to 5/3. i dont think it has been changing every day (i believe it was stuck at 4/28 for a while), so i guess this is a little something. forgot how "fun" it was to over-analyze every little thing that happens on your status checker.

Huh, so I just checked my status checker for the first time today. False alarm averted. It says i'm complete (5/3 as well).

I should get into the habit of checking every day now.

With finals rolling along, the days have sort of merged ...

No status change, not surprised. I have a 0% chance getting in ED as I go to a T2 and not a T1. Oh well.

My status changed to 5/3 but still "under review" and I'm at a T2. Idk if this means anything since I would place my chances of getting in at 0% as well.

Then you're application is probably stronger than mine. Seems like the UR 5/3 people are still being considered. I'm still UR 4/26.

Unlike GULC, I don't think there is a way to guess your fate based on the timing of updates. These guys seem to review on a rolling basis. Also, they take only a handful of people, so the sample is not nearly large enough.

edit: typo

I would agree. I didn't see any indication last year at least that status changes would indicate likelihood of acceptance.

That said, they must have some system to rank and differentiate candidates. I can't imagine it's purely ad hoc. It's just that from our perspective, I don't think we can establish a pattern, especially with so few people chosen overall.

I would also hazard a guess that they wouldn't make a decision as to your application until all applications are ready to be considered. So while they compile all the apps that came in near the deadline, I wouldn't read much into yours still being under review.

To date, we've had, what, one confirmed acceptance?

I'd tend to agree that the update doesn't mean much. Just wanted to throw my situation out there. For all we know they could just review in randomly selected batches and I just happened to be in the first batch.

edit: was just perusing last year's thread...I'm pretty much just hoping I don't get outright denied now.

Why? Did you find a pattern in last years thread with the order people are reviewed? I looked through last years thread, but to be honest, I never correlated dates with when people were under review. I would have only noted a pattern if someone had mentioned it.

No no, I meant stat-wise. Some people with good stats got outright denied. I didn't see a pattern with review dates either.

Ah right. Yes, it is daunting to see how extraordinarily competitive it is. The black-box nature of the process makes it doubly difficult to predict anything.

Another day, no movement for me so far. But then again, I'm not sure when the system updates.

Just cuz I'm bored: my prediction is that the decisions will be released (via email/calls) on Wednesday, 5/11.

I have a feeling that this semester will test Chicago's "we will rescind if grades are not up to snuff" policy

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
