I submitted my application on June 23rd and, a few days later, I received a general e-mail confirming that my initial application materials were received. Since that e-mail I had not heard from the admissions office until this morning. At this point I do not have a official class ranking, however, I would estimate that it is between 2-4%. Hope that helps!

So i'm not really into the whole excessive speculation thing; however, my status date on the status checker has changed everyday for the last week, from July 6 - July 10 (on Saturday?) but still says complete. I first went complete around June 18. Has this happened to anybody else?

So i'm not really into the whole excessive speculation thing; however, my status date on the status checker has changed everyday for the last week, from July 6 - July 10 (on Saturday?) but still says complete. I first went complete around June 18. Has this happened to anybody else?

So it doesn't necessarily mean that your file has been checked, reviewed, or added to? The date just changes everyday regardless? That seems strange to me...

Yeah I have a friend who also has applied to M, his date changes by the day as well. I think it is a computer generated thing and is virtually meaningless unfortunately.

For the regular app cycle it changed every day except Sunday...including holidays like Christmas. It's definitely computer generated.

Edit: My guess would be that the admissions office works off a database and at midnight (or whatever) the server scrapes that database for updates and pushes it the status checker.

Getting denied at gulc certainly doesn't make me feel very confident about how this is going AT ALL. Not that Berkeley is a bad fall back, just sucks to not get you dream school.

Do you think we could work something out where we trade acceptances? I'll trade you my GULC for your boalt!

I will trade a Chicago ED for Michigan. Those were my top two choices

Hahaha I was actually referring to Michigan as my dream school. I'd only take Mich and probably Northwestern over Berkeley at this point. If you have an acceptance from either..then yea, lets trade!

To be entirely honest Michigan has been so sporadic with acceptances and denials (at least as noted on this board) it is hard to determine how many more are being accepted. It seems like they are sending acceptances out as they review applications (not in waves like other schools), so I would not worry about turning it in late. I think your chances are just as good as anyone if you have a competitive application compared to the rest who are awaiting a response.

Dude nice! A much deserved congrats! At least you can relax a little at this point knowing you are in at one of your top two choices (and Mich's deadline is not until July 30). Well done sir.

Yeah I am on the hunt for an apartment too, probably nothing worse than looking for a place to live in a completely new town lol.
