Also, if anyone is in Boston and wants to meet up at a bar for a couple beers and high fives for getting in, let me know. I'm bored out of my mind here.
Oh, I'm attending.

I'm in Detroit, I'll have a drink in all of our honor. Then together, when we bowl, on the 20th. Heeeeeeeeeeell yes.

University of Chicago Transfer Class 2012: now with facebook group. Shoot me a PM with your email, and I'll send you an invite. The group name is on the subtle side for those of you who, like me, haven't told many people yet.

Can we please refrain from using the terms "elite" or "ballers"? Agreed? Agreed.

You can have elite back, but I'm keeping ballers.

Where are all you "elite ballers" going to be living this fall? I'll be taking my talents to Hyde Park, near 55th and Ellis. You guys planning to live near campus or are you branching out up North?

I think I am living right near 55th and S Hyde Park Blvd. Was considering regents but it was harder to justify with the missed discount and kind of late to find a roommate.

I was there a few weeks ago and the Regents guy indicated that it didn't matter that the deadline had passed, they were still giving out the law students deal.

I'll be living between 54th and 55th on South Woodlawn.

You'll probably be able to talk them in to it--Regents isn't exactly anywhere near capacity (i.e., they have referal bonuses (which arent applicable to people who get the law school package,) a $1000 rent credit for new tenants (which law students can't get, but eh)). Don't let them stonewall you. For christ's sake, they lowered rent this year significantly (by more than $100 a month), even for continued residents.

For those of us who attempted the Law Review write-on, we're supposed to hear about that today, right? Does anyone know if we will find out either way or if only those who are accepted are notified?

You don't get a call to inform you that you didn't make Law Review--or at least I didn't. ~150 people did the competition, that would be a little excessive. IMO they should send an e-mail over the listserve saying "initial LR offers have been made," but eh.

Also, to answer the next question: no, I'm not completely sure when the secondaries are going to make their offers. It was a day or two after Law Review last year, and both secondaries made calls on the same day (which I expect will happen again this year).

So, anyone get the law review call?

Edit: According to some people, it seems like the LR calls are actually going out today, so you all still have hope - good luck

No law review call today :(. I am really just hoping I can land on a secondary.

But with the impression I have of the number of students who get on journals in general it seems even that is very difficult.

What is your impression of how many people make Law Review and each of the secondary journals?

(I haven't received a call (yet)).

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
