i'm excited, too. and i live in brooklyn, too! also wish i could move closer to campus :(
ugh I live in Long Island and will be making the commute =\

my sister goes to John Jay (a block away from Fordham) and does it 3 times a week, but she's used to the train and stuff. I on the other hand have been driving since I was 16 and only use the train to go to Knicks games =/

Would anyone else be interested in sharing an apartment? From what I've seen splitting the cost of a 3 or 4 bedroom apartment works out to be way cheaper than getting a studio and you can get a much nicer place. It might also just be nice to have fellow classmates around to study with or something. Ideally I'd like to find something in Clinton or the UWS to be close to the school.

There's an explanation on the admitted students site under "housing"

you guys should look into apts in LIC, hunter's point, sunnyside, and astoria [but the part that's closer to the 7 train] easy transfer for 2,3 at time sq. once you get used to it, the commute wouldn't take longer than 20 minutes. and it's cheaper than manhattan. and they're fun areas to live. esp in lic, for the price of a crap apt in manhattan you can live in a doorman luxury building in lic.

anyone else working in the city already? when do you plan on quitting?

Even places off the NW, RV in Astoria aren't a bad commute. I'm off the R train now, and the train to 57th and 7th is about 20 minutes, + the 10ish minute walk to campus. That said, I would seriously LOVE to live walking distance to school, but no way would I be able to pay $700 in rent (like I do now) on the UWS.

+1 (trillion) on Astoria

And, yes, I am currently working in NYC. I plan on working up until one week before orientation, going on vacation with my family, and then coming back the day before we start.

So question... does Fordham offer student parking or discounted student parking in the surrounding area?

Fordham 3L exam-procrastinating:

its a "real" class in the sense that it is held all week (2 weeks mon-thurs night for evening and 1 week mon-fri for day) and you have an issue spotting/essay style exam that is graded pass/fail and you get one credit for it.

I'm thinking we should organize something for after the barbeque at Fordham on 6/24.

Many congrats to you HEP, you seem like you really deserved it!

Thanks Kaydish! Bummer that the barbecue is on the 24th, I'm away in DC that weekend...

I'm still waiting for a response for the PT program- it's really frustrating I'm not sure what's taking so long. I called yesterday and they said my file was still under review. Has anyone been accepted this week or still waiting?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
