I am fairly certain I will end up here as well, pending the financial aid process. I'm pretty excited to end up in Durham next year.

hey everybody, I've been in for a while, I think since the 18th of September. Anyone know when we are going to get our scholarship packages?

they are going to start review in January so hopefully not too much longer after that. I think at that point they should have a pretty good idea what the class is looking like.

Thanks
what are all of your options (open to every one in thread) as far as schools go? My big decisions so far are between Duke and Texas (duke winning as of now by a little), but I expect to get into at least 1 or 2 higher ranked schools. Just wanted to hear opinions/reasons why.

Re: Duke Class of 2013
It would be very difficult for me to turn down Duke as I live in the South and I have some family in the area. I also visited over the summer and really enjoyed the atmosphere of the law school. Of course if Yale comes calling that will be almost impossible to ignoreranovr32 wrote:Thanks

Re: Duke Class of 2013
I just got in early decision, so I'm definitely headed to Duke. After I applied early decision, I figured I should apply to other schools just in case, and I strongly considered Northwestern, UNC, Penn, and a few others, but I'm glad I saved the money by not applying (or by being a bit lazy, I suppose.) I'm looking forward to meeting my new classmates in Durham!

Well as of now the race is between Duke (Winning) Texas, and Cornell....
I hope Duke gives me a sizeable or at least competitive FinAid package, I have heard amazing things about the law school. Have you guys read the previous years admitted students forum? Every future Blue Devil is practically raving about the school and they haven't even finished a year there.
ps I also heard Duke is pretty sparse with their aid packages, any truth to this?

I got in mid-December and am really excited about going next year. I visited in August before I applied ED, but I'm really excited about going to ASW in March. I've read on some other boards that Duke gives a travel stipend for ASWs, does anyone know who you contact about travel stipends?

Anyone else going summer start JD/LLM? I've paid my deposit and just waiting on financial aid/scholarship stuff. I'm thinking about buying a condo within walking distance. What are everyone else's housing plans? I live in Wilmington, NC and have been to Durham looking a couple of times. Curious to hear from others who are planning to attend.

You going to ASW? I have to decide between that and my fraternity's formal in Panama City. Tough choice. FYI I just realized everybody is going to know who I am IRL. Oh well, I don't think I have done anything stupid on TLS yet.

Yes I am going, and eh who cares if they know who you are. Good luck deciding on that one.DallasCowboy wrote:You going to ASW? I have to decide between that and my fraternity's formal in Panama City. Anyone need a sublet for the summer (May - late July)? I live at Pinnacle Ridge (the law school dorm essentially, located close to the law school). Summer starters, I'm looking at you. I have a fully furnished 1 BR with no roommates, non smoker, and lots of law books included. I'm a 2L and will give you all the advice you need about everything relating to lawschool and life outside of lawschool.

Thanks for the offer, but I avoided summer start. Just wondering, do you bus to campus or drive? If you drive, how much do you pay to park?

I'm 95% sure I'll be coming to Duke. Very Texas heavy class this year it seems, are any of you gunning to head back after LS?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
