Also, the first class assignments are now up on LawWeb (for me at least).

EDIT: Correction, it is apparently only up for one class.

Most professors will give you an old exam of theirs - only a few actually post to the online bank.

Try 88.5 - Radio IQ - its NPR without the music (literally)

Sweet, thanks, that is exactly what I am looking for. If I want NPR I want my News/Talk. If I want Jazz I have my iPod, and if I want to hear a violin concerto . . . okay, I don't really want to casually listen to a violin concerto in my car, I admit it.

Yeah, no offense to the fine folks of Virginia, but I wasn't really understanding why there was so much classical music on their NPR station than the one in Texas. I want to hear All Things Considered, not Bach.

most regions have two npr stations. I haven't been down in Cville in a while, but Northern VA has 90.9 and 88.5, one of which plays half classical half news, the other one is more like all npr all the time.

This might have been covered already, but...

On my financial aid page of SIS, it says my loans are set to disburse on August 16th. However, in the letter sent out by Jennifer Hulvey earlier this semester, it says: "The anticipated due date for the payment of fall tuition and fees is August 16, 2010. Payment can be made via e-check or credit card through QuikPay@UVA (login through SIS.)"

So my loans are going to disburse the same day that my tuition is due...how will that work? Do they mail you a check for the loan amount?

They pay your tuition & fees automatically with however much loan money that takes, and then (if you haven't set up direct deposit) they mail you a check for the remainder.

Tuition and whatever bookstore charges you have will be paid, and you will be sent a check (or, ideally, an EFT) for the remainder.

By the way, I talked to Jennifer earlier this week, and she said that money will be disbursed starting Monday, but that it will done on a rolling basis throughout the week.

Ah, got it. I'm actually having to switch banks (since there are apparently no US Banks in the Charlottesville area) so I didn't set up direct deposit, and I guess they'll just be mailing me a check. Thanks for the help...I was a bit confused.

Also I hope they do not do the rolling disbursement in alphabetical order because that would be cruel. :)

Which is to say, no laptops at all. (Laptops are apparently universally banned in LRW.)

This is some great news. Perhaps all this talk of how long funds would be given out might be overblown after all, eh?

BTW, has OGI been going around? Just been seeing a lot of anxious lookin' folks in suits around here since I arrived...

It still took forever for a ton of people last year, often for no apparent reason. And I'm pretty sure that the checks (for those who haven't set up direct deposit) take a really, really long time.

This has probably been covered already...

But is it just me or did section E take one up the backend? Outside of Jeffries and Sprigman, the line-up seems pretty dreadful. Here's to hoping the Penn guy is good...

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
