I vote we meet at 7, is everyone cool with that? If you're already in the area, wine at my apt, if you care to partake!

My gf and I are staying at the Moonrise hotel on the loop, what's everyone doing later on tonight and/or tomorrow night? Can't head out until later (meeting friends for dinner right now). There's a bar on the roof of the hotel that is supposed to have a bomb view of the city, we're thinking of hitting that up. If any of you are out around the loop, let me know!

Baker is my Contracts professor so that's good to here, I also have Goldwasser for Torts and Carfield for Property. Know anything about them?

I've been to that bar - it's nice.

baker is amazingly funny and witty. His classes are usually hilarious and enjoyable. you may feel like you are lost during the class but it always makes sense at the end. He focuses a lot on the UCC so pay attention to it and understand it well. Also get Chirelstien's supplement since he seems to follow/repeat some of the material from that book.

I also had Carfield and hated her. Hopefully your experience will be better. she usually goes through the cases in depth using the socratic method but her explanation of some of the case law is a little shaky. Her exam questions can also be out there (one of the questions was insanely open ended). She doesnt allow laptops in class.

I didn't have goldwasser but heard mostly good/neutral things.

good luck

Greenfield for Contracts, Drobak for Property, Norwood for Torts, Bondareff for Research, and Shields for Practice?

Thanks!

Leave tomorrow morning from South Florida to St. Louis. Stopping in Orlando, Gainesville, Athens, Atlanta, and Nashville to see friends. I'm really excited - should be in St. Louis by the weekend.

Greenfield: heard great things about him for the most part. He had an intimidating reputation but friends from his class said that the socratic method in his class wasn't THAT harsh. He does require a written brief for every class for all the cases. Normally, once he calls on someone, he will keep calling on them for the entire class. apparently his exam was straight forward but Ks in general is not that complicated

Drobak: had him for civ pro. LOVE HIM. made me actually enjoy civ pro and I am sure he will be great for property as well. Everyone thats had him wants to take all the classes he teaches. I myself am going to probably take every class he teaches. No real tricks on the exam and gives back great feedback on your exam. He is very helpful in office hours as well and really takes the time to make sure you understand the topics.

Norwood: She was really cool outside of class but I think I just hated torts as a subject. She uses powerpoints exclusively and puts together a review ppt at the end which is all you really need to learn torts (she does not put up the ppt she uses in class though) Exam was one standard issue spotter essay question and a hilarious multiple choice section with about 60 questions

Research: the most useless class ever. professor will have little to no impact

Practice: no clue

Damn I was putting furniture together just to have something to do and missed the meet up. No internet is horrible. Maybe we could organize something for tomorrow too.

Hey...I'd be fine to meet up tomorrow too, but I can't spend a lot. I'm forcing myself onto a budget by taking out an extra small amount of living expenses loans.

I say we buy 40s and walk around north of U. City drinking out of paper bags.

I've seen so few cops around here that plan might work.
