this reminds me of when i worked at my Undergrad library and during tours, parents of incoming freshmen would ask how late the library is open on saturdays. i always wanted to answer, "it won't matter..."fl0w wrote:stop pretending like you all are going to have time or motivation to work out.
Your gym will be bar review.
Your weights will be shot glasses.
Your gatorade will be patrone.

Does no one here indulge in non-country club sports? I like a good round of golf, but I'm going to go crazy if I can't play at least one of the big three. IM basketball/flag football/softball are where it's at.

Re: WUSTL Class of 2013
Hey guys, I was in St. Louis this past weekend and snapped some pictures of the Wash U campus after a walk through Forest Park. Unfortunately I don't think I have any of the park itself but it was beautiful. I also went to the Missouri Botanical Gardens which were phenomenal. I can post pics of campus and the A-B Hall later on if you guys are interested, and if you want I'll include some of the Gardens (and even a few from around the city). I figured it'd be obnoxious to do so unprompted, so let me know.

will you be making a visit or are you just going to go there for the first time, find a place you like and move in all in one swoop?finalaspects wrote:i have yet to ever step foot in the state of missouri, let alone see the school.najumobi wrote:has anyone here not seen the law school in person? like people who applied from abroad?

I applied from abroad, never been to St. Louis or Missouri. I also got an apartment from abroad. I'll be moving in the weekend before class starts and that'll be my first time in the city.najumobi wrote:has anyone here not seen the law school in person? like people who applied from abroad?

Absolutely! I didn't see nearly enough of the campus on my visit. It would be nice to be able to show friends/family some shots as well. I try to describe the campus and law school, but obviously words don't do it justice.Rock Chalk wrote:Hey guys, I was in St. Louis this past weekend and snapped some pictures of the Wash U campus after a walk through Forest Park. So funny - me too! I'm from CA and haven't made it to STL yet. But I did visit Northwestern. I figured that I'd like WashU more than NU so I sent my deposit in. I was gonna fly out there to visit but don't really see a point now. I'm subletting a place for the first month which will give me time to scope out apts in person.finalaspects wrote:i already got an apt. it was all done remotely from california. it'll be one swoop though. i move in when i get there. funny thing though... i visited the other schools that i turned down for wustl... ironicnajumobi wrote:will you be making a visit or are you just going to go there for the first time, find a place you like and move in all in one swoop?finalaspects wrote:i have yet to ever step foot in the state of missouri, let alone see the school.najumobi wrote:has anyone here not seen the law school in person? like people who applied from abroad?

Re: WUSTL Class of 2013
Has anyone read or plan to read anything from the recommended reading list?

I just ordered A Civil Action and The Nature of the Judicial Process. Both were recommended to me on more than one occasion...I think this sort of "lighter" law-related reading might help me adjust before diving right into briefing/case books.

Re: WUSTL Class of 2013
After I finish what I am reading now (not law related), I plan to do GTM. Heard too much about it not to give it a shot, and it is short enough that even if it wasn't worth my time, at least it won't have been a lot of time. Otherwise, just reading for pleasure. After 3+ years of graduate school buried in articles and other heavy lifting, this year I have avoided anything academic like the plague and I plan to put off more school reading as long as possible.Harry Ballsogna wrote:Has anyone read or plan to read anything from the recommended reading list?

Hah I didn't even notice GTM on there. I'm about halfway through it right now. The overall concepts seem solid, though I think its definitely the type of book that benefits from a second reading once the semester is underway.publiuspublicola wrote:After I finish what I am reading now (not law related), I plan to do GTM. Once I finish my current book, it's on to Getting to Maybe. Afterwards, I'll scour my E&Es, with no effing idea what they mean.

Re: WUSTL Class of 2013
It's been a while since I've checked in. I drove from Florida to St. Louis earlier this week, and I found a place in the Central West End. I initially wanted to be in the loop within walking distance of the school, but all the places I looked at in that neighborhood were crummy and dirty. One place was left in such disarray by the previous tenant that there was chicken bones on the carpet and a whole bunch of garbage on the floor. Maybe all the good spots have already been taken.
Anyway, I have since driven out to San Fransisco via Boulder and Salt Lake City. It's my first time in SF. I like it, but it's been the coldest weather I've seen since early March. I'm heading down to LA and San Diego later this week, and then to Austin, TX. See you all in about a month!

The entire thing is epic. Ignore my OP... I didn't start that thread, but I was given OP power was handed over to me. Someone named seija did asking about a couple of schools. Shitshow ensues.
