Contrary to popular belief, there are cell phone towers out in the boonies. Verizon, which is what I have, is arguable the most popular around here, and I have never had an issue with trying to get service. I know some of my friends who have AT&T and Sprint get spotty reception in areas, but for the most part they don't have any significant troubles.SAE wrote:Is there cell phone reception around there?whatchootalkinbout wrote:Hi guys! I've lived in VA my whole life, currently attend undergrad about an hour away from Lexington, and have several close friends who go to W&L Law so I visit Lexington quite often, so if anyone has any questions/concerns, I can try my best to address them.

I think I'm going to fly into DC and take the train into Staunton. Do I just get a cab into Lexington from there? About how much will that cost?
(I'm visiting some fam in DC and probs GW before hand and want to get a feel for the train travel since that's what I'll be doing to visit family on holidays)

I am going to visit on Thursday-- if I like it I plan on sending in my deposit at the end of the week. Super excited...everything I have read about the school has really impressed me. Has anyone definitely decided to attend yet?

Though my cycle is far from over, W&L is my first choice as of now with the 34K scholarship. Just checking into this thread, perhaps I'll see many of you guys in Lexington in the fall.

Perhaps, someone with a USNWR paid subscription could copy-paste the info. It would be great to also compare the data to peer schools (W&L, GWU, UNC, GMU), too.

Re: Washington and Lee Class of 2013
I honestly wouldn't look at the above provided statistics as anything more than an incident of historical trend. I recently visited another school which has significantly higher 2007 employment prospects (94% at graduation) only to find that they had dropped to 88% in 2008. (Top 20 school at that) If the economy improves before we get out, which it may still, then those 2007 numbers would be important.

Is anyone planning on flying into Roanoke Airport?
I am looking forward to meeting up with potential classmates in March.

Rowinguy2009,
Was there something specific that did it for you or the decision was made already and you are mentally locked in now?

The decision was basically already made, going into the whole process w&m, w&l, and Emory were my three first choices. I wasn't going to make my committment official until scholly info from Emory came out. Since that has now happened, WL is the clear choice.

Congrats on the decision. I am half a step away from the same. I will be there in March.
The admissions office stated that employment data for the recent term would be posted sometime in February. Has anyone else heard this? I haven't seen it yet.

I will be attending the ASW in March as well. The more I read about this school, the more impressed I am.
