Regents? No, you can't. They gave names of rental places though.

New Grad residence was pretty crappy compared to Regents, but it's furnished. I think the tour guide said it was like $7100 for 9 months (can't live there during summer). That's almost $800 a month. Regents 1 bedrooms are $1100 a month or $1400-$1500 for a two-bedroom.

Also, my big beef with New Grad was the shared kitchen.

Thanks so much for the thorough answer! Reassuring to hear about the job prospects. The biggest thing Chicago's got going for it in my mind is the tiny class size, which helps both job placement and faculty interaction, so I'm glad those two turned out to be true.

Chicago sounds like a "love it or hate it" place, honestly, which is why I really think I missed out by not visiting, ugh. My impression, from hearing a lot of other people's impressions on TLS, is that while the student body isn't as antisocial and competitive as reputation would lead you to believe, it is at least a little more intense/intellectual/charmingly nerdy, which both the students and faculty kind of take pride in -- not a bad thing, mind you, but certainly a "not everyone fits in here" thing. Any thoughts?

Also, thanks to ChaotiCait for the photos -- it's great to see the inside of the law school building, and regents! Regents looks pretty nice on the inside (well, once it's furnished, and the walls are painted...) but sure is hideous on the outside.

As a native Chicagoan, I recommend Lou Malnati's for deep dish pizza... I love deep dish and even I was disappointed with Gino's East.

Yeah thats what I thought too, but it was also a cloudy day so it probably looks dingier than it really it. The inside is really nice though.

Thanks for all the great pictures. I took my camera hoping to take pretty much this same set of photos. Instead all I have is a couple I took with my cell phone and ONE of the courtroom (the most unimpressive of all of the room I was in this weekend).

And I guess I am the only one who thought Gino's was pretty good. I guess that could be because it was kind of my first experience with the city's pizza.

Overall, I cannot wait to start school now. This weekend went really well.

Haha, I know how to deal with hurricanes and alligators, but I had no idea how to clear the frost off my windshield. I do like snow, though, so I'm hoping I'll be okay -- I'll just need to buy a whole new "winter wardrobe"

Did you guys see the new rankings?! 1. Yale, 2. Harvard, 3. Stanford, 4. Columbia, 5. CHICAGO!, 6. NYU, 7. Berkeley and Penn.

I know, rankings don't mean that much. If Chicago had gone down in the rankings, I'd be all, "Only asshats read USNWR." But whatever, my first two choices were NYU and Berkeley, and I got rejected from both (well, NYU is going to reject me). The law school gods work in mysterious ways.
