The latter for the most part. A 3L (now graduate) who is an Olympic powerlifter went all the way up here: http://www.quadsgym.com/ It's pretty hard core. But far from school.boo jersey shore wrote:Question regarding the gym NU gives you access to for dirt cheap: Is it a decent gym for hard lifting, or is a yuppie gym for people who are trying to live up to New Years resolutions?
That said...I'm a girl but former figure competitor so I lift regularly and it is decent to lift, but not great. My biggest complaints are that there is no seated cable row machine and only one EZ curl bar which I think is absolute crap...while they have like 8 lat pulldown machines for some reason. BUT...for the money, it really can't be beat and since there are a lot of students coming at random times stuff is usually not too crowded except at peak hours when the real people come to work out (before 8:30AM, 4:30-8:30PM ish)

Re: Northwestern Law Class of 2013
Also, I've posted this in another thread but...
I'm moving out of 445 E. Ohio (Lake Shore Plaza) sometime early-ish August, so if anyone is interested in taking advantage of moving in mid-month and finishing out a lease that ends at the end of August let me know.
I really like my apartment (big convertible with a massive closet and big kitchen with pantry for a steal at around $1100, north view, small gym in building, dry cleaner in building, doorman etc.)--and much better soundproofing than McClurg or Onterie IMO) but I am moving to be in a place that allows dogs. It does have some Section 8 in the building (as do a decent amount of other buildings in the area) but I've never had a problem and neither have the other 1Ls I know who lived there this year.

Just checking in and making sure everyone remembers to submit their Health Record form and proof of immunizations by the deadline of July 1st. I was looking through the form and it says failure to submit the completed form can result in a $100 late fee, which I'd hate for anyone to have to pay.

Going to the doctor today for that very purpose, unfortunately. I need a tet/dip shot. Hmm, I'm ordering my records from my undergrad today, but I didn't even think to check if my last shot was w/in the required ten years and if I'll need to get another. I hate tet/dip shots. I get really sick from them and I haven't had one in over 10 years. I think I'm just gonna plan on taking a sick day the day after I get it.Rose Tyler wrote:Hmm, I'm ordering my records from my undergrad today, but I didn't even think to check if my last shot was w/in the required ten years and if I'll need to get another. For NYC-area folks: it looks like there will be a couple of happy hours in the coming weeks for people who haven't decamped for Chicago yet. There should be one on June 30 and another on July 21. Location is TBD, but let me know if you're interested and I can post the details when I get them. (These were generated by a discussion on the NU 2013 Facebook group.)

Never mind. Apparently I got this shot last year and didn't remember. Still had to go to the doctor's office to get my form completed by the July 1 deadline.NayBoer wrote:Going to the doctor today for that very purpose, unfortunately. I need a tet/dip shot. if you send in your records without it done, you have 30 days after school starts to do it without any penalties. but if you feel sick after the shot, it does make sense to do it while NOT a law student.

Anyone know any law student who lives in the grad housing in Evanston and how much of a hassle it is?

Do they have any deals going? Or are you paying what their website says.MusicNutMeggie wrote:Just put down a deposit at McClurg. So glad to have that settled!Desert Fox wrote:Anyone signed a lease for an apartments yet?

Re: Northwestern Law Class of 2013
Also McClurg. There really isn't a deposit. I just paid $250 up front, which included the application and credit check fees. Part of the $250 is refundable if your credit or references don't check out. I asked her if there were any other deposits or fees and she said no. [Edit: actually, there's a small move-in fee of $87.50]Desert Fox wrote:Where did you decide on?NayBoer wrote:Kind of. The deal the manager gave me was $500 off the first month's rent for NU students.
