anyone nervous / excited about this?
undergrads or law students?
Law students in particular.
I went there for undergrad and while the women were not particularly aggressive as described above, they were pretty much always down for a good time if you play your cards right.
The info about the girls from law school comes from my two best buds that just graduated from WULS

Can anyone log into the new admitted students page? I got the email and used my email address and the password and it keeps telling me the server doesn't recognize me.

I got the email too and was able to login. Out of curiosity, have any of you gotten WUSTL email accounts yet?

Mine worked. I like the new setup a lot more than the old one. Their new website overall is great.
By the way, I know most of the posters in here are old farts (kidding

), but congrats to all the recent graduates in here!
It is such a weird feeling being done with college... The last few weeks were so fast and so busy that it didn't feel like it was coming to a close until I put on my cap and gown and walked across the stage. I'm glad to be done, but I'll definitely miss my undergrad. The profs here have made such an impact on my life and I've made some great friends over the last four years. But now it is time to look forward to my future at law school and I really can't wait. Time to get pumped for WUSTL!

I think they save that for orientation.

Congrats Romo!! Being done with college is a bittersweet feeling, but when you're smart, kind, and willing to word hard the real adult world is an incredibly rewarding place. Now go enjoy your summer!

went out on a limb today and called about increasing the amount of my scholarship. They said "not possible, we are way over budget on scholarship award".
at least I asked.
I only wanted $5k more to cover full tuition.

I'm curious as to what happened with the scholarship awards. I'm assuming that a more people than anticipated decided to accept big money offers from WUSTL over higher ranked schools. But there appears to be less waitlist movement than usual from the T14. So maybe it was just some sort of serious miscalculation.

Did anyone apply for the Sonnenschein program? I thought they were supposed to notify applicants by today according to the letter, but I haven't heard back at all.

I started letting people know at work today that I plan to be out of here in 1.5 months. Wanted to give them enough notice to transition my responsibilities, adjust staffing, and make sure i don't burn any bridges or damage my network on the way out.
i got this weird adrenaline rush doing it! Still have more people to reach out to in person over the next week or so, but it feels good to let the cat out of the bag.

Awesome! I can't wait to not be working any more! Does anybody know if WUSTL will be offering any laptop deals? Is anybody letting the fact that WUSTL doesn't "support" mac's deter them from buying/keeping a mac?
Also, are there any neighborhoods that people have found that they particularly do/don't like for any reason? There are soooo many listed on the website, and I've never even been to St. Louis. I'm trying to start somewhere...

I went to wustl for undergrad and they have a whole technology support department on the undergrad campus that will support macs. I know because I worked for them. I wouldn't be too worried about having your mac.

i was wondering about macs as well, especially when running the exam software on them. some people say that having bootcamp is fine and then i've heard other stories where macs have crashed...does anyone more computer literate have any ideas on this?

Padmapper is the best resource I've found for looking for apartments. I think just south of campus (along Skinker and to the west of it) and just west of campus (in the neighborhood around Pershing/Forsyth) seem to be good areas. They're both easily within walking distance. Also, Central West End (which is on the east side of Forest Park) is nice, but you will need a car.
My roommate and I will be checking out a few places this Wednesday. If you're interested, I can possibly give you my perspective on some of the neighborhoods and housing complexes.

Ooh let me know what you think of the Demun area! I think that's the area you're talking about south of campus. I'm interested in that area and also the area by the Loop south of Delmar. I know everyone says its not the safest place but if you happen to go around there can you let me know? I'm determined to live near campus and I'd rather live near the Loop where there is more activity than in Demun where it seems tamer.

Im currently pretty drunk and in this little diving town in egypt called dahab. its sweet. descriptive, i know but you guys arent talking so this is what you get. enjoy.
Diving in Sharm el Sheikh was practically a religious experience for me. Very jealous, nyyankees!
I am all of a sudden getting really excited about WUSTL. I have been so focused on the waitlists, that I sort of forgot how much I loved St Louis, love the campus, and loved the faculty and Deans we got to meet. Go Bears!
how much diving have you done? I took my first dive ever yesterday and now i really want to do more so I think ill get my open water at some point on this trip. Ive heard really good things about Sharm as well. I seriously love it here. I met a guy from London last night who left his job as a management consultant at McKinsey and is now getting all his certifications done to be a dive instructor. Its def that kind of place that makes you want to forget the rest of the world and just let yourself get sucked in
A fair amount, but I'm no expert (Still need someone else to safety check gear, etc). If you get a chance while you're there go to Sharm. The water is so clear you can see to the bottom, there is a big reef that supports tons of life (we saw sharks, eel, all kinds of crazy fish) and the coolest part is at the bottom of the Red Sea off the coast there are sunken turn of the century naval ships. There is so little regulation you can swim right up and in them. Everything valuable was stripped decades ago, but it still amazing to see.
sorry to go back to this, i havent been on a comp in a long ass time. Anyway, i didnt get to sharm, but ive heard nothing but great things. I did a a DSD while i was there, but i wasnt there long enough to get my open water done. I am currently in Mykonos and I did another DSD yesterday, but it was not nearly as cool as in Dahab. I am DEFINITELY gonna get back to Dahab/Sharm El Sheik again at some point in my life cuz this was absolutely awesome.
also, congrats on graduating romo. welcome to thunderdome...bitch

Just started looking around for apartments. Anybody have any experience with FrontDoorSTL or a building called The Carleton? Looks like my favorite in my (very brief) search so far.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
