West Village is the one I saw, and I liked the apartments themselves and the location. From my perspective (coming from LA) it was a pretty amazing complex for the price. All I know about Woodstone is that it's rated pretty highly in this "2009 apartment report" I found online, and I like that it's near some trails. Have you been to both?
I've seen mixed reviews about West Village...though I hear that a phase two apartment is necessary for any type of privacy sound-wise. I also looked into Woodstone, and didn't hear a single negative thing. Look at Station Nine, too...though I hear it's an MBA crowd?

I just sent in my info to be added to the "looking for a roommate" list. It should be pretty apparent who I am when they add it, because I actually took the time to include "other information" and referenced TLS.

Pucianellas = awesome little italian restaurant about a 15 minute drive from Duke. It's family owned and $10 gets you a really good main dish, salad, bread. I told them I would be living in Durham starting in the fall and they gave me a free dish to try. It's not swanky or anything, just casual italian dining. You won't regret at least trying it.

Jeri? Like Jerry? That doesn't sound too bad. I don't remember being completely outed, but I guess a quick facebook snoop could figure it out lol.

My suspicion was J. Eric and I think that hunch was correct, not entirely sure though...

Thanks for the tip, I'm going to try that place next time I'm down here. For anyone who likes BBQ, I tried this place called Smokey's BBQ Shack today. It's either in the very south end of Durham or maybe just over the county line in Morrisville, I don't know; I randomly passed it and stopped to try. Anyway, they make a great pulled-pork sandwich. I learned two things about this place, and possibly about Carolina bbq in general:
1) When they ask if you want slaw, they're not asking if you want a *side* of coleslaw, they put it directly on the sandwich
2) Yes, the sauce is vinegar based. It's really runny and does taste slightly like vinegar.

To my surprise this sandwich tasted great. It's different from Kansas-City style bbq for sure (or any other western bbq), but it's delicious in its own right. I now have a mission to explore more local bbq before the summer ends, well that and getting a bunch of immunizations

(I guess I'm just not 100% sure if your middle name is Eric, lol.)

There's information about the list on the admitted students' Web site. :D You're not the last...maybe.

Got my e-mail address, woo! jew27@duke.edu nice and simple. Yes my initials are jew and yes my middle name is eric.

Last I checked there were only 4 people on the roommate list, and most of those were summer starters. I hope my apartment complex gets back to me with a unit soon or I'll be begging one of you to take me as a roommate.

There have to be some people who haven't even started thinking about the living situation yet. I wouldn't worry.

The former's fine, and I'd enjoy the constant tongue twister with the latter.

Very funny though

I'm kinda wishing I did a dual degree so I could be starting school really soon instead of having to wait until August.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
