Does anyone know how tall the ceilings are in Regents park? I'm actually trying to figure out how tall the windows are.

As I look at them now I would ballpark them at 7 feet. The windows that is.

I just got the place I wanted via Grad Housing! It's building #16, huge 1 bedroom and the rent is cheap. I hope it works out well since most people seem to be going to Regents...I'll be moving in Sept 16th. Wonder if that's too close to the orientation date for comfort...

Congrats! You've got a few days between the end of orientation and the start of classes so I'd imagine you'll be fine.

I'm just finishing unpacking and organizing my place. It has taken me a full week, but I've been pretty lazy about it. I'm out of town for the next 2 weeks, but if other early arrivals want to meet up sometime at the start of September we should set something up.

I'll be back 8/31! U-Pack was great. We actually used their full service movers, who did a pretty good job and actually came in cheaper than their quote since they estimated more space in the trailer than we actually needed.

It is very nice. Ratner is relatively new if I recall correctly. That was one of the first places I went when I visited. The setup is really nice, and I highly doubt you will be disappointed. I've heard nothing but good things, and from what I saw, it was really nice.

I checked out the old gym this week but haven't made it to Ratner. Let's just say we should be glad they built a new place. Henry Crown does have a couple of (old battered) heavy bags though, that is all I was looking for.

I picked up my ID on Tuesday and headed over to Ratner. It's not bad but I am used to newer gym because I come from a big state school. It seems like they packed way too much equipment in too small a space in the weight area. However, I really like the set up of the cardio equipment on the second floor.

Yeah they have like 3 or 4 racks with wood floors to do that.

Yes, but you might prefer Crown, the gym further down the block, if you're a serious lifter. That's where the football players go.

Anyone know about when we should receive our schedules? I wanted to try to hunt down cheap books on Amazon but some of those take a few weeks to come to you..

I'd love to know my schedule so I can see what professors I have as well as find out how early I have to get up. Alas, it's not here.

For some reason I think we don't get our schedules until Orientation.

I hope the fall quarter has better classes at the gym than the summer session does. I don't want to have to join a private gym!

I think in the June letter they said they would send us our schedules and book lists in "late summer" and we would receive our first assignments as well. So I think we have to get them before orientation, unless they are giving us very little time to do our "first assignments"

I think you're right. In the July letter, they said they won't contact us again until after Labor Day, so maybe we'll get them then.
