Re: Northwestern Law Class of 2013
I already had my UG school send a transcript; has anyone else done this and gotten some kind of notification from NU that it had been received?

I don't think you'll get any type of notification. You will, however, get notification when your health and vaccination history requirement is met. Don't worry about that yet, you'll get the info in your pre-matriculation guide.

I got the pre-matriculation guide, and I'm not stressing about anything. I just went ahead and sent the transcript because I had to order one for my car insurance anyway. Maybe I'll just shoot them an email to ask if they got it.

I was wondering if anyone remembers how long it took after setting up an email account and paying the deposit it took to get the official financial aid package. Also, has anyone been getting any emails in their gmail account? They acted as if we would need to check it pretty often, but so far I still have been receiving emails only in my regular account.

I haven't gotten anything from Northwestern at the new email address, either.

They send most of the notification e-mails over the summer to the address they have on file for you (aka whatever you told them when you applied). You won't really get NU e-mails until around orientation. Outside of e-mails regarding loans, I only got my first e-mail at that address from the school in the second week of August.ccourt14 wrote:I was wondering if anyone remembers how long it took after setting up an email account and paying the deposit it took to get the official financial aid package. I got an email yesterday afternoon saying my financial aid package would be viewable on CAESAR last night. You can see it if you log on and click Accept/Decline Financial Aid. The Grad PLUS loan was very slightly smaller than their March estimate.

I like the terminology that says $73k in debt for 9 months of school is an "award." :P

Re: Northwestern Law Class of 2013
Hi Everyone,
I currently live in Chicago and plan on moving up to Wisconsin for law school. I have a fully furnished apartment and I'm looking to sell my couches, dinning room table and chairs, coffee table and tv stand. They were all bought from Ikea less then a year ago.
PM me if you're interested, I certainly will give a fellow TLSer a GREAT deal!

I was on the website looking at their suggested laptops today and it had a spot that said they don't recommend Macs. ...which sucks because I had really wanted to buy one. Does anyone know if it's really a big deal or what the exact issue is with Macs? For example, does the testing software need Windows to run?

All you need to do is install windows on your mac (using boot camp) if the exam software is windows only. The exam software is going to be provided right? You don't need to have any other windows programs in all honesty.dreamweaver87 wrote:I was on the website looking at their suggested laptops today and it had a spot that said they don't recommend Macs. ...which sucks because I had really wanted to buy one. I'm a computer science major and have been using macs for... 6 or 7 years now? If you want to use a mac you'll be able to. If you prefer a PC, well duh, that will work too. Personally, I'm bringing a mac to WUSTL, and they also "dont recommend" them.
The important thing is that you install a full version of windows using boot camp as opposed to emulating windows with some kind of VMware or Parallels.

if that's the case, then get whatever the hell computer you want. They are probably just saying they don't recommend macs because their IT department doesn't know how to troubleshoot them.Desert Fox wrote:I've been told there is no exam software.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
