I'm still Section 4, to my minor disappointment. The first three days of the week seem pretty intensive for us.

Ugh, been on the phone with Mediacom for 23 minutes and counting just trying to get an HD cable box.

Yeah, I hear ya. You have to go through a credit check and stuff. However, you don't have to set up an appointment if you don't want to. Once you pass the credit check, you can bring your current cable box to the Mediacom place on South Gilbert and exchange it in person right away.traehekat wrote:Ugh, been on the phone with Mediacom for 23 minutes and counting just trying to get an HD cable box.

Dealing with Mediacom is complete and total hell, but they've got a monopoly.traehekat wrote:Ugh, been on the phone with Mediacom for 23 minutes and counting just trying to get an HD cable box.

Anyone need a roomie?
I posted this on CL: --LinkRemoved--
I'm a 26 yr-old male soon-to-be grad student. I need housing starting in Aug. I don't want to live in a hotel for a month or something. That would blow.
Me:
-26 yr old male
-Grad student
-Been on my own for a while so I know how to be a responsible adult
-Definitely enjoy some partying but i've really calmed down lately. Plus, I have a girl now so i'm not looking to hook up at bars anymore. Funny, the appeal of bars suddenly dropped...
What i'd prefer in housing:
-A house w/ a basement or other storage for bikes and such (i'll prob bring two bikes w/ me. That could expand, however)
-Reasonably close to the Law school. Like, within maybe three miles.
-I have a really nice Park Tools repair stand if you're also a biker. You're free to use it.
-Washer/dryer on site (free preferred)
-Dishwasher
-A bedroom big enough for a bed and a desk. Other than that i'm not too particular.
-Roommates who are serious about school. I don't want to live in the Animal House.
-Roommates who also enjoy having a good time.
Lemme know what you have!

Good company as long as there's coffee or some other type of caffeine involved in the mornings, lol.JOThompson wrote:At least we'll be in good companyjaskat wrote:tell me about it... *Sigh*JOThompson wrote:I'm still Section 4, to my minor disappointment. Problem with Qwest is that they use DirectTV as their TV option. Most apartment buildings don't allow sattelite TV.traehekat wrote:Ugh, I knew I should have went with Qwest. Re: IOWA 2013
Does anybody know how the student section works for football tickets? I have my season tickets, but do they assign me a seat? Is it the same seat for every game? Do the tickets get mailed to me, or do I have to pick them up somewhere every week?

Re: IOWA 2013
The student section is general admission, this means that you will have different seats every week depending on how popular the game is and how early you arrive. As far as the tickets themselves, some schools put the tickets on your id card and others have hard vouchers/tickets they give to students(I am not sure how UIowa works). Hope this helps.

a cool mediacom promotion from my phone conversation if anyone still wants to take advantage of it: College Intro high-speed internet, $19.95/month for 10 months... Only a 10-mo contract. Same deal with no contract is $29.95 but who needs that...Anyway, that's very low. I'm sort of an existing customer (inactive currently) but if you're not, it still wouldn't hurt to call and ask if you can get it. PS - after 10 months it goes to the normal rate of $44.95 - aka time to disconnect/bargain with them.

Just so everyone knows, the supplemental materials that we have to purchase are from the copy center, but they can be purchased right at the bookstore for $4.75. Just picked mine up.

Does anybody know if the schedules have been finalized yet? The letter said some people's sections might change, and I saw some people on here were changed, but was that the end of it?

The section and schedule assignments they sent in the mail are the same that are on ISIS for me.

So guess where Judge Susan Bolton, who just issued an injunction on the Arizona anti-illegal immigration law, graduated from? University of Iowa College of Law.
