I just got their admitted students guide and now I am really excited about Fordham! I was a little on the fence before but now I'm very excited.

Also, was anyone else super impressed with their admitted student's handbook? I used to work in public mailings/bindings so I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to this issue, but WOW!. The spiral binding was sturdy but facilitated turning the page. The index was so easy to use and all the relevant information was in one spot. I'm comparing this with the materials I got from Michigan and Duke and they were much worse. They came at all different times, mostly were junk, and it was hard to find the relevant info.

Yes, but I didn't know I was requesting anything special. They never sent me anything - not an admission letter, not an award letter - nothing. Just an email. So I asked them to send me something.

Fordham = low budget. But it's still an incredibly awesome school, and they invest where it really counts: career opportunities.

not sure, but would definitely like to learn more. it kind of sounds like it will be a clinic, right? or just classes? either way, very cool.

Cool! Right now it seems like it's an "institute", i.e. a formal framework for conducting research, hosting events, etc., but I imagine that will lead to more classes and maybe even a clinic, who knows! I did happen to see the course in Fashion Law on the tentative Spring 2011 schedule (http://law.fordham.edu/registrar/17875.htm), so it looks like Fordham is definitely investing in this area. Not exactly my cup of tea, but it definitely seems like a great idea to leverage Fordham's its NYC location to be a leader in this field...

they did last week or the week before, but it's gone now. weird huh? they're just drafts anyway, though, and like you said, we don't get to pick classes until 2L...

I received the Financial Aid guidebook today in the mail. They said they will let us know 2010-2011 costs in 'late spring.' I received my preliminary award over a month and a half ago, and sent in my tax returns fairly promptly but haven't heard a thing since. Anyone receive a final award yet?

+1...If I can get off work and travel up from DC, I'd love to go since I missed the previous ASDs. I've spent enough time checking out NYC bars online, it will be nice to actually start trying them.

We moved to direct loans this year. It's actually much less paperwork, and I am told the lending criteria are less stringent. Finaid will send you guys instructions over the summer, I am guessing.
