I want to, but after reading the description I gather that they won't offer me a placement.

Why wouldn`t they offer you a placement?

Why wouldn`t they offer you a placement?
I think it's for people who are first generation college students or others who need a quick law school intro

Gotcha... well, I have been out of school for a while, so it seemed like a good idea. On the other hand, a few more days of relaxation seemed like a good idea too. It`s a toss up.

I've been trying to find out a weird little bit of information about UCLA's medical insurance. Does anyone know if when you add a spouse and kids to the insurance, does it come up as one fee or separate fees for students and family.
The reason I ask is that my GI Bill pays for mandatory fees, including health insurance. But if there is a seperate charge they may not pay for my wife and kids. It may be a waste of time asking anyway because of the new health care laws but I'd like to know.

Returning to the topic of cars and Weyburn, does anyone know how much it costs to park in Weyburn (as in not on campus)?
I saw some numbers on the website, but it looked like they applied to on campus parking permits.

I am having trouble finding that info too. Here is some good info on the Weyburn permits (e.g. when/where they're valid), but no fees: --LinkRemoved--

and here are the fees for various permits: http://map.ais.ucla.edu/go/1001377
(you might have to login to see some of these things. it's hard for me to tell)

My best guess is that a Weyburn permit counts as a "Residence Hall" permit, which is $237/quarter. That is more than a normal student permit, but I still think it's a pretty good deal... you get a space near the apartment which is quite close to campus, and even though you can't park on campus during the day, you can do so after 4:30 and anytime on the weekend. There are all kinds of exceptions to the policy outlined in that pdf. I'm definitely getting the permit.

I'm not sure they are guaranteed, but I tried signing up for it too, I think it's totally worth it if you can get the parking there for sure.

If I remember correctly, Weyburn comes with parking included in the rent. Not campus parking, but parking at Weyburn. Just ask someone who has lived there and they will tell you.

Here's the info, it sort of seems like the parking is guaranteed, but it might also be first come first serve.

Each of the Weyburn Terrace apartment buildings has gated underground parking. This on-site parking is available at an additional cost.

Parking will be offered to prospective Weyburn Terrace residents who accept their housing offer. Residents will be issued a Weyburn Terrace parking permit upon check-in. Please visit the UCLA Parking Services website for fees and other information.
Sounds like you are pretty much guaranteed parking, but it does cost extra.

Did anyone complete the housing application thingy yet? That might have info about the parking...

I have, it asks if you want to apply for parking as far as I remember, so I checked that.

Request for more monies was rejected today. They told me 'Are you aware of all that we have given you so far?' They should have just called me greedy and made me seriously lol

At least you got some. They just sent me a letter today saying that I wasn't selected for nothin, but that I should check back after seat deposits and maybe I'd get lucky.
