Rittenhouse Square area - August 1st I'll be moving in. Still far away but that hasn't stopped me from looking at furniture! hahha. Where do you think you'll live?
Also, is anyone else in the DC metro area and want to get together to celebrate our acceptance/decision to go to RU-C?

i'm jealous of the whole philly thing, and buying furniture is strangely exciting / entertaining. unfortunately it looks like i'm going to be living on campus for the first year

ha, beat me to it.
So I called admissions today and they said I don't need to send my transcript with my seat deposit. As long as they have it before school starts that is all that should matter.

Re: Rutgers-Camden Class of 2013
Sending in tuition deposit today. I contacted the Dean last week about maybe offering some grant money so that my decision would be easier, and they came back with an offer for in-state tuition (dependent upon my establishing NJ residency before July 1) and an extra $4k per year on scholarship. Means Ill pay less than $8k a year to go to school.
Seals the deal for me; withdrawing from every school but Notre Dame, where I still hold a Rudy-like dream of being a Domer...

Working the same deal for myself - any chance you could PM me your #s? I already sent in my request for a little more money. What day did you send yours?dp73816 wrote:Sending in tuition deposit today. Depending on how it works out, we should talk, I'm not doing jumpstart either but dropping an extra month's rent to take 10k off tuition seems worth it...

Re: Rutgers-Camden Class of 2013
the campus was fairly small (the law school consists of two buildings), there were a lot of smoking-hot UGs, the grad dorms were slightly nicer than typical UG dorms, the law library was pretty nice, the classrooms all looked very nice (1L classes weren't that big at all), the food wasn't terrible (better than my UG), the surrounding area wasn't teeming with crackheads and shootouts (but i must say that i saw two cops arresting a shockingly confused looking man on my way out), the victor looked really nice, the bridge to philadelphia is a stone's throw away, the moot court room was awesome, the bookstore sucked.GoodToBeTheKing wrote:kissy wrote:toured the campus yesterday and had lunch with dean andrews, it was HOT AS HELL

all in all: as long as you don't wander too far off campus you could've been on any college campus anywhere on the east coast. the visit definitely didn't change my mind, and camden wasn't nearly as bad as i anticipated. dean andrews was really really really nice and friendly, and apparently is a very popular professor. while it's "unofficial," the curve (~3.0-3.5) seems extremely generous, and there are numerous law journals you can compete to be on. i was impressed.

I wonder what the temp. will be when I am there on the 20th lol. I am used to the heat but not the humidity.
btw, I just got wait listed at Rutgers-Newark... Oh well, I think I would rather go to Camden anyways.

well, today it's less than 60 degrees out .. yesterday was unseasonably warm. the humidity shouldn't be too bad, but you do realize you're choosing to visit on 4/20 right. things could get interesting!GoodToBeTheKing wrote:kissy wrote:oh and did i mention that it was 90 fucking degrees out?!!

I've been accepted to both, but I prefer Philly and I think the Rutgers brand in general provide enough brand to make the move up north if that interests me

higher GPA/LSAT scores, that sort of thing. and if you prefer philadelphia then there really isn't much to think about here. you can literally walk to philadelphia. they are within one mile of federal courthouses in both NJ & philadelphia (they're closer than Penn and those other schools). and while people are always trashing camden, newark is just as bad.JuTMSY4 wrote:Explain...kissy wrote:

Definitely keep me posted on your housing situation. If I can get a similar deal, I'll easily sacrifice a month or two worth of rent for 10k off tuition...
