I think our prof took all the fun out by just using the term MPC... We would have been exhausted from snickering anyway, as he luuuuurrrrved that ol' MPC...holybartender wrote:So it's okay to snicker when we're being lectured on the model penal code?KMaine wrote:Still find the word "penal" to be funny. GPA 3.55, LSAT?
Sorry, I know I'm crashing a thread I don't belong on, but I'm taking the LSAT in June & Cornell is my #1.
Applications soared 50% & I don't know how much (if any) that will affect their LSAT/GPA stats.
Are any of you non-URM with a gpa close to 3.55?
If so, please, what was your LSAT score?
I'm obviously the most curious about lower scores.
I'm probably going to hit 168-170, but a 166 is certainly possible.
Hope to be joining you in '11.

I had a 3.6 and a 171 and I got in. I would say you got a good shot if you break 170 and a solid shot if you hit 168-169. Good luck! Congrats on that retake, 166-175, what changed?

Re: Serving Time in Ithaca (Cornell 2013)
Thanks, I was pretty relieved. My undergrad was on the quarter system, which meant that when I took the June LSAT it was in the middle of finals week. I actually had to scramble to reschedule and get makeup times, but I ended up with a 4 day span that included 10 pages in Italian, 25 in English, 4 exams, and the lsat. And dinos. Oh god the dinos.acdisagod wrote:I had a 3.6 and a 171 and I got in. I would say you got a good shot if you break 170 and a solid shot if you hit 168-169. Good luck! When the September one came around I spent the week before taking two tests a day and then got lucky I guess.

Good luck! I had a 3.6 and a 169, and I was in no problem- I'd guess 169-171 would be a pretty damn good shot, though you'd probably still have a chance with lower numbers if you ED'd. You should check lsn to see how people with LSATs in the mid 160s and your GPA fared this year to get a better idea.Scallywaggums wrote:Sorry, I know I'm crashing a thread I don't belong on, but I'm taking the LSAT in June & Cornell is my #1.

Re: Serving Time in Ithaca (Cornell 2013)
Nice, I was doing study abroad so I would've only had 2 weeks to study for the June LSAT after finals so I decided to pass on June and go September or bust. That's crazy taking it during finals. Oh and I took the June test the night before my real test and I got owned by the dinos also among other things.holybartender wrote:Thanks, I was pretty relieved. Thanks! Yeah I actually have looked at lsn, http://cornell.lawschoolnumbers.com/statsklk wrote:

in the 3.5-3.6 range:
only 1 out of 5 got in with a 168 (and that one had rockin' softs)
whereas 3 out of 3 got in with a 169
but then 2 out of 3 were waitlisted with a 171... ???
I was posting here in hopes that I could increase the sample size (so, I should have added this caveat earlier: PLEASE DISREGARD THIS POST IF YOU HAVE A PROFILE ON LSN)

I was a little shocked that Berks, Harvard, and Stanford were so highly ranked, as well. Time to show them who's boss!!!

Re: Serving Time in Ithaca (Cornell 2013)
he called it "model penal code" all the time. i think students really used MPC more than him. but, his demeanor i think is what took the humor outmbw wrote:I think our prof took all the fun out by just using the term MPC... Wow, I'm an idiot. I somehow managed to fill out the hughes applciation for 2009-2010 instead of for the 2010-2011. Luckily, I called today and was informed of my mistake and got the last room available.

You can still be put on a waitlist. The 3L who gave us a tour of Hughes said she was on the waitlist when she applied and got into Hughes... so, i suppose there is still hope!

Hmm, I'm not sure if I'd want to remain uncertain about my housing situation for that long. Oh well. I also applied for Maplewood (grad housing), so hopefully there will be something there.
