End of August, Cubs will probably be out of the race anyways and playing the Pirates I'd guess tickets won't be too much of a problem to get. If anyone is going to be around earlier in the summer I'd be up for having a Wrigley outing any time starting in Julymayosmith wrote:Night games on 8/30 and 31, and they're against the Pirates, so...Rose Tyler wrote:Yes! Also, day games on 9/1 and 9/3, though we may or may not actually have class then.
I actually would totally be up for a Cubs game if they weren't so damn expensive. I usually go to 1 or 2 every summer, but only when I can get tickets for free/face. I <3 baseball.Rose Tyler wrote:Wouldn't call them the good Chicago teamHolly Golightly wrote:Anyone want to go with me to see the good Chicago baseball team play? But, I'd be up for making a trek to the south side for a game

I think since all of their awards are a combo of merit/need-based, there aren't stipulations attached. I don't have my award letter handy, but I believe the wording was something like disbursement & subsequent renewal is contingent only on your matriculation to NU- a fairly obvious requirement lolboo jersey shore wrote:Nothing weird. No requirement at all.Sauer Grapes wrote:I'm impatient... and time crunched.Sauer Grapes wrote:Those of you that got scholarships... what are the terms? Good standing? I don't think you'll have a problem finding friends. Everyone was really friendly at ASW. I'm sure the NU TSLers will have a meet up before school starts in August, you should come if you end up going NU.MusicNutMeggie wrote:I finally got accepted yesterday after being on hold for about a month--- yay! I'm 99% sure I'm coming to Northwestern-- it's down to here and Cornell, and Ithaca does not appeal to me overly much. For those of you who were at the ASW, though, any thoughts you care to share? I visited when I interviewed in February, but that's the only time I've even been to Chicago (other than layovers at O'Hare), and any additional insight would be great.
The only thing that really worries me is isolation. I know nobody in Chicago, I'm on the younger side of Northwestern's class (23), and I'm worried about making friends and such-- something that doesn't worry me at all with Cornell's itty-bitty class and on-campus dorm. Anyone care to allay my fears? I only got to talk to a few students when I visited-- did the ones you guys met think that forming social networks was difficult? And do you have any specific housing recommendations/warnings? Thanks!
Thank god! I was starting to worry I was the only Sox fan. I'm up for a trip to see them anytime (going Monday in fact)- or the cubs/sox game people are talking about.Rose Tyler wrote:Wouldn't call them the good Chicago teamHolly Golightly wrote:Anyone want to go with me to see the good Chicago baseball team play? But, I'd be up for making a trek to the south side for a game
