Actually, it appears that I'm actually the baby of the thread, this always happens to me with my June birthday...I'm 20, but will be 21 by the time school starts. I'm comign straight out of Undergrad, which I finished as fast as possible.
And we definitely need to find a good sports bar close to campus to watch all the Giant games.

Another June birthday here - I'll be 25 when I start.
I'm not 100% committed yet, but I'm strongly leaning toward it (still have 2 weeks to make the final decision between Georgetown and Cornell). I'm surprised that so many of you are already committed, given that Georgetown has a May 3rd deadline. I guess I'm the only one who likes to procrastinate to the last possible minute.

I'm proctoring an LSAT for my friend, and I'm super bored right now. New Economist just came, so I guess I'll read. Also, very weird goings-on at the Red Sox game last night.

Well I had to commit for my scholarship, I had like a limited amount of time to respond. Plus my choice was Georgetown or Fordham, and therefore no choice at all. Good luck with your decision!night06 wrote:Another June birthday here - I'll be 25 when I start.

24...will be 25 a couple months into school. Actually looking forward to going back to school after a nice 3 year break. Though I will miss having my weekends totally free of responsibility...

I am all in for TLS reunion. Maybe during Orientation, once we get out of whatever they have to orient us on. I request alcohol be available - i'm best after a glass of wine.

22 here!! Graduating from undergrad in 2 weeks!!!! I'm so excited.
And yes, I hate the Redskins too. My Bucs are playing the Skins in Washington, and I definitely want to go to the game.
I'm up for meeting up during Orientation!
I'm going to a Bon Jovi concert tonight! woo!

Does anyone else who is applying for Gewirz think that "Do you drink alcohol when you socialize?" (from the housing application) is a poorly worded question? The answer choices are "never", "rarely", "sometimes", "most of the time", and "all the time". "Socialize" just seems way too broad to be useful. I don't need to have a drink to go to the movies or stay in with friends, but needless to say it's a different situation when I'm going out to a bar or club...

Maybe they mean "Will you be drinking at Gewirz?". And if someone puts "never" they won't pair them with someone who says "All the time."PheelTheMusic wrote:Welcome!iamtaw wrote:Glad to finally be joining this thread!

But I agree with you, it seems poorly worded.

So my trip to Berlin for the competition is postponed until October, which means I won't get to go because I'll be at Georgetown
Of course a volcano is Iceland would affect my competition in Germany, so typical of my life!

My information showed up a day or two after they requested Federal Tax Returns. I had completed everything else weeks before that time. Oh and also my financial aid information showed up before they reported receiving my tax return information, so I guess it is just to check if I'm lying or not and not to help them decide how much I should get.Unitas wrote:How long after all of your requirements went complete did you all get financial aid award filled in? yeah, it seems final requests for tax returns are for confirmation, not for evaluation. Got my official fin aid letter today, feels so good! Also in the mail: rejection from NYU. It's official. GEORGETOWN! see you guys in the fall.Torvon wrote:My information showed up a day or two after they requested Federal Tax Returns. I had completed everything else weeks before that time. I've been lurking in this forum for awhile now. Today I officially committed to Georgetown, so I thought I would say Hi! to everyone.
I will also be 25 once school starts.

That sucks Kim. At least you still get to go to Europe this summer (assuming someone in power realizes that planes can actually fly through volcano dust, or the damn volcano runs out of energy).D. I'll turn 23 during orientation, my birthday is always during the first week of school!
Also, I went to the Admitted Students Reception in LA this weekend, it was okay. The best part was the water bottle they gave us that says GEORGETOWN LAW on it.

Ha, yeah that's my consolation. Oh well, I'm a go-with-the-flow type of girl, so it's not a tragedy. I'll get over it.Interminable_Waiting wrote:That sucks Kim. I went complete on April 1 (both tax returns in). I just called them today and they said my info was with a counselor. They promised I'd hear by the end of the week. I had my NeedAccess, Fafsa and etc filled out by the first week in March.Unitas wrote:How long after all of your requirements went complete did you all get financial aid award filled in?
