I am so ready for football. (don't get me wrong, i love baseball, i was at the yankee game last night, but there's nothing like watching the gmen <3) We have to find a really good sports bar to watch the games.

I really hope the Pats draft Tebow in R2 too... because that means they didn't grab any of the much better options still on the board at that point!

This is the year of the Green n White. Holmes, Edwards, Cotchery, Keller, Tomlinson and Washington all on the field on third down. Who do you cover???
Oh, and our D is pretty good too

1) Holmes will be suspended, so no one has to guard him.
2) Edwards will drop the ball, so no one has to guard him.
3) Sanchez is likely to miss the remaining targets, none of whom are above-average NFL players, so no one needs to guard them.
4) Thomas Jones is scary though, I hope they don't give him the ball on third down.... oh wait.

Hey, so I have been following this thread and just sent in my deposit today. I'm really excited and think I definitely made the right choice (even though the rest of TLS may disagree..still can't quite figure out why there is so much gtown hate on this site). Once I started seeing the Giants and Yankees talk I knew I had to speak up. Finding a good sports bar to watch the games once we get to DC sounds like a great idea. Can't wait to meet everyone in August!

I spent a summer in Cambodia a few years back, and if you are interested in history/ancient civizliations at all you should definitely go to Angkor Wat and related buildings. If not, then there isn't that much to do outside of Phnom Penh (and its a bitch to get anywhere), and you can see all the important Khmer Rouge-related stuff in a day or two.

Good to know. Along with the Cambodian coast, those are the two places my friend in Indonesia (he also lived in Thailand for a year and has been around a lot of SE Asia) suggested. Thanks for the info. I'm curious, how was it being there over the summer? Was rain much of an issue for you?

they said people have been having trouble seeing their grant money in MyAccess. My loan offers showed up this week and they definitely don't add up to $68k. Fin Aid office phone person says I should subtract what the loan offers are from 68 and that's my grant. it is sizable and I am very happy!!! I should get a letter in the mail soon with the official offer. good luck!

Anyway now I'm thinking I'd rather just borrow that amount in extra GradPlus, is it possible to cancel the Federal Work Study and take out that amount in additional GradPlus instead? Anyone know?

Answered my own question. Just in case anyone is interested:

"You can reduce their Federal Work Study and increase your loan eligibility if you find that you will use less than you have been allotted or none at all. Please talk with your Financial Aid counselor for further information about this process."

I really wasn't overly impressed with the coast. Just a lot of okay beaches, really cheap bars staffed by backpackers/hippies, and gaggles of hookers (although that is everywhere in SE Asia). I heard that other parts of it were sweet though, so maybe just do some research.

And the rain was more of a lifestyle than an issue. Evey day from 12 to 3ish. Phnom Penh used to flood like every 10 days, which was also fun. Best showers I had over there were outside in the rain.

Also, Georgetown said I could wait one more week till I heard from NYU before committing and accepting my scholarship. They are pretty awesome in Admissions.

Actually, it appears that I'm actually the baby of the thread, this always happens to me with my June birthday...I'm 20, but will be 21 by the time school starts. I'm comign straight out of Undergrad, which I finished as fast as possible.

And we definitely need to find a good sports bar close to campus to watch all the Giant games.
