Hey anybody else find Fordhams merit award letters confusing? I'm not sure if my amount is total or if it is over 3 years.

it should be per year, renewable for each of the 3 years. for example, if it says $10,000, then it's 10k/year, for a 30k total scholarship.

To the above poster, I think it depends how serious the relationship is which only you can adequately assess. If the relationship is that important, I think it would be hard to turn down all the perks of being in NY at Fordham, if you place more value on degree portability than BU is the better choice.



I am wondering if anyone in here is turning down a full ride at Cardozo to attend Fordham. I love both schools, but feel that Fordham really opens a significant number of doors that from Cardozo it is more difficult to break into. FWIW I have 10k/yr at Fordham. Obviously we are biased and I am just wondering if anyone else had to make the same choice.

Thanks, kaydish21. We actually both want to go back to CA (particularly San Diego), and I would rather just take on BAR. It's obviously no guarantee to get in CA or SD market from either school (SO didn't do it w/above median grades from Cornell), but that is still the ultimate goal.

Are you sure BU has more portability to CA than Fordham does? You can certainly travel around the Northeast with a BU degree better than with a Fordham one, but once you head toward the Pacific the difference is likely negligible. Case in point: trying to break into the CA market graduating above median from Cornell. Sounds to me like if this is the goal, Fordham's your best option.

I was accepted in November.. I work full time and have 3 kids..I'll be going at night--Hopefully I'll have some time to study.. Do you guys know on average how many hours you need to study per day?

For us full timers, I've hear the rule of thumb is to treat it as a full time job... I'm guessing that means 40 hours a week, 20 in class, 20 studying. Like anything else tho, its personal preference. I won't be sitting at my desk w/ an egg timer, but its certainly realistic to think its going to take up an enormous amount of time. Your weekends might not be much fun.
