I dunno what co-ed flag football was like at your UGs, but at mine I saw at least two instances where men injured women pretty bad (broken jaw, broken? leg). Not insinuating anything here. But mshflyer, you may have to make some sacrifices if my UG is representative in any way

I am ready to make some sacrifices for our future flag football team, haha.
I won't be there until a few days before orientation, but I'd love to meet you guys.

Does anybody know for sure if there is a law school flag football league, or if it's a league with the whole university?

I think intramurals are university-wide. My guess is they divide leagues by types of participants- undergrad, grad, faculty/staff, etc. So you sign up as law (grad) students, and are put into a grad student league.
Link that I didn't fully explore
To those of you living at Seville - I can't remember what is included in the room. It's unfurnished, but does that include a refrigerator, oven/stove...?

When I was there back in the stone age, there was a LS specific league. Within that, there were co-ed and male only teams. I think we only played maybe 4 or 5 games, but our team SUCKED. You've gotta practice, there will be teams that have dozens of organized plays and crap. There were ex-college athletes in our league, too. Those dudes were all really fast and could jump high, making games against their teams not fun after about 2 minutes.

Yes: fridge, stove, dishwasher, lack of storage
Maybe: microwave - can't remember
No: washer/dryer

I'd much rather compete with grad students in general. I don't want to interact solely w/ law students...no offense

I am deeply offended by this! (No, not really. I feel the same way.

I actually called the medical school about a month ago asking if they share their housing and roomie request lists...they don't. I thought it would've been fun to room w/ another grad student. Twice the parties and twice the gossip
I may work on getting those lists shared once I get there...

Andrew, are you already down there or something? (I say "down" being from MN, ha).
No I'm not already down there (down for me too, being from Michigan). I am just so anxious to get the heck out of this place that I am prematurely trying to plan something. In a few weeks I'll post again lol.
I will be there starting Thursday. When you arrive, hit me up. I can show you guys around haha. I will scout out the bars and see which ones are best.
Thursday....as in next Thursday?
Yeah, Thursday as in 2 days from now. My lease started up July 1st, so I'm moving in early.

Some law schools are classless and rude. One of the reasons I chose Iowa was the polite, classy way they treat applicants, unlike others. Really I've only had problems with one law school being rude, and that was the one I was aiming for when I started the law-school process. I started out really wanting to go there, but the whole application process just really turned me off them.

Nice. I hear Iowa City is actually a pretty sweet spot in the summer.

Use the list. It's been updated fairly frequently, and it worked well for me.

hey everyone, i am desperately looking for advice on this matter. i paid my deposits a few weeks ago, and am currently really looking forward to trekking out to iowa to attend law school in the fall. problem is, i am currently in china, as i have been for the past year and a half, and will be until basically orientation week, obviously precluding me from searching for apartments in person. my only requirement basically is living close to the law school, and that i'd like a roommate to break up the monotony of studying by myself. i know people advise to use the housing list, but for my unique situation (i.e. i'd love to be your roommate, but can't participate in the housing hunt whatsoever), it really isn't working out. can anyone lend a hand? i'd be more than happy to buy anyone a beer this august for some helpful advice. thanks in advance!

I'm living in the Grandview Court apartments. It is literally a 3-minute walk to Seville or Benton, but it is a little closer to the law school.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
