Seconded.

God I hate the Giants.

In all seriousness, how are they going to be better than last year with no running game and a shell of a pass rush. I can tell you from following my own team's decline that this is a recipe for disaster.

Also, stay classy Tiki.
Ugh, Tiki.

I sort of feel like this is all my fault. I'm like the kiss of death. I get Tiki's jersey like 2002ish, and well actually he had his best years after that, but then retired and became a douche. Then I got Jeremy Shockey's around the same time as Tiki's, and he turns out to be a big douche/injury prone. Then I get Osi Umenyiora's before the 2007 season, he has a good year, we win the Superbowl, and then the pass rush commits suicide. I was thinking about getting Eli's jersey but then I could foresee a 20 interception type of season.

I think the main problem was not the DEs but definitely the DTs last year. THey need a lot more pressure up the middle. Plus, it didn't help that the linebackers were pathetic, and the defense really deflated when Phillips went down. On the bright side, the WRs were good (steve smith <3) and they're young, so hopefully they get better. I also don't believe that the GIants have no running game. Their RBs are not used properly. Jacobs should be pounding the ball in the beginning, and then Bradshaw should come in and switch it up. It was weird the way they were used last year. We'll see what happens in the draft. Unfortunately, I'll be in Germany, but I'll have to try and keep up online if I have a chance.

I always get so excited for the draft, but then never make it past the beginning of round 2. Maybe the way it is broken up this year will let me maintain interest.

Patriots are loaded for this draft. I hope they actually make their picks, instead of trading down forever like usual.

.
I totally get what you mean with the jerseys being the kiss of death. This happens to my family with the Bucs all the time. As soon as we get someone's jersey, they start sucking, get injured, etc. etc.

I want so desperately for the Bucs to trade up to get Suh. But the Bucs management sucks right now, so that's probably not going to happen. We get rid of all of our good players and keep the crappy ones. Sigh. Here's to another losing season!

At least you didn't just hand over control of your team to Pete Carroll.

But we did hand over our team to a defensive backs coach who had never been a defensive coordinator before. Clearly, he was well-qualified for the head coach position ::cough cough::

But is he also the President/GM/whatever Carroll's title is?

I love football but the Seahawks are just so depressingly bad right now and this offseason has been a total disaster. Are there any baseball fans ITT?

Yes. I like baseball, although I follow football much more religiously. There are just so many games in baseball. Volsi loves baseball. We're Yankees fans. So you'll either love us or hate us, I guess, haha.

Haha. My older brother is obsessed with baseball. Of course, he loves the Yankees too but he'll go to any game. He's looking forward to visiting me at Gtown so he can go to Nationals games

Ha, I wish. Actually, I'm going there for this international retail competition (World Retail Congress) so my team and I will just be busting our asses preparing for the competition. All expenses paid trip, but we get like 1 day of sightseeing. The rest will be at a convention center LOL

This summer I'll be in Europe so I'm excited for that.

I was living in Seattle the year the Seahawks went to the Super Bowl. I've been a Saints fan since I was a kid, but that was still really exciting. It sounded like everyone in our apartment building was about to snap after some of those ridiculous penalties.

That game was a travesty. But yeah, that was a really exciting season. The Seahawks have great fans, the 12th Man and all that. The city goes absolutely nuts over the Hawks.

Despite, or perhaps because of my team affiliation, I can talk baseball with the best of them. Rule 5 draft? I know the rules. Best prospects in the majors? I can rattle them off. And I can discuss any team civilly, if you're up for it. I just don't do baseless Yankee hate.

[listening to Dodgers/Pirates on my phone right now. Ah, baseball on a warm spring day in central park.]

You sound like my brother! That's how he is.

OH!!! I ALMOST FORGOT!! My mom, dad, brother, and I are all going to see the Yankees in St. Pete on Saturday! I'm so excited!

By the way, did you all see Justice Ginsburg is at Gtown today? Seriously, I'm such a Supreme Court dork. You don't even know. I cannot wait to experience this incredibleness.

Awesome, I love baseball and I don't know the rules for Rule 5. Are you listening to Vin Scully? He's the best (tied with my man Dave Niehaus anyway). As to the bolded, I have yet to encounter it and am skeptical as to its existence.

Kim617: Congrats on the scholarship award! That's incredible!

Unfortunately, I have to concur with the Pats fan (I don't think I have ever done that before). The Giants are in pretty rough shape on the defensive side of the ball.

I hope I can make it to the preseason week 1 game against you guys.

In other news, I attended the Boston admitted student reception last night and had a great time. Everyone seemed to be not only very intelligent, but also very engaging and sociable. Gtown seems like a great place to be.

i was there too! it was quite enjoyable - all the alums were very helpful and great about answering questions. and we learned that andy cornblatt is a red sox fan (which fits nicely into the gulc/sports fandom thread).

Heh! At the New York event I talked to Andy and Lucinda Treat ( who has a red sox ws ring from when she was counsel for them) about my Yankees love. They didn't revolke my acceptance, so I think it's ok!
