Re: UVA Class of 2013
Section F reporting in. No assignments posted for us, as far as I could see. Extremely happy that we can use laptops in all non-LRW classes, was not looking forward to going back to handwritten notes.
Thanks to all for the advice to buy software from Courts & Commerce. Sadly, saving $$ on Office and Windows 7 doesn't feel as good when, at the same time I had to pay off some of my balance early just to stay under the credit limit after buying my books!
Moving in this Sunday, looking forward to meeting people on Monday. Say hi if you see me around, I'll be conspicuous.

Re: UVA Class of 2013
Anyone in Section G?
Section G
Civil Procedure ( G, H) Collins, Michael G. TWF 1000-1120
Contracts (G) Verkerke, J H. TWF 1410-1530
Criminal Law (G, I) Brown, Darryl K. MTR 0850-0950
Torts (A, D, G) White, George E. MWR 1540-1700
If not, fantastic - less gunners (or so I think). If any of the 2Ls or 3Ls have any advice for getting ready for these professors - I'd love to hear it (either by PM on as a response).

Did anyone see any assignments posted? I only saw that section J has to interview someone, which I'm not in.

It was posted in Slaughter down the hall from the book store. Very little was up though. I'm sort of pissed. I mean if you are going to make me drop a gajillion bucks on books at least give me something to do with them.dgouzoul wrote:fuck. where is thatjoeshmo39 wrote:Did anyone see any assignments posted? Re: UVA Class of 2013
Hi Class of 2013! I never sold back a bunch of my 1L books and thought I would offer them to you all since I remember how frustrating it was feeling like I did not have time to buy books online once I found out what books I needed. I have an add on Craigslist you can check out (not on here much). --LinkRemoved--
I have the following and have listed the professors that I believe are using those books this semester:
Torts -- Epstein - Cases and Materials on Torts 9th Edition, 978-0-7355-6923-2
Great condition, just some minimal highlighting/underlining. Used at Book Store = 101.90 Amazon = 93 + shipping Will Sell for = 90
Professors: Hylton, Armacost, Abraham
I also have the 3rd Edition of Abraham's Forms & Functions of Tort Law Hornbook -- Like new (no markings at all) for $20
Civ Pro -- Friedenthal - Civil Procedure Cases and Materials 10th Edition, 978-0-314-18402-3
Great condition, some highlighting or underlining and will throw in last years supplement for free (this year you need 2010-2011). Used at book store = 129.75 Amazon = 145 + shipping Will Sell for = 125
Professors: Nelson
Contracts -- Kraus - Contract Law & Theory 4th Edition, 0-8205-7029-X
Great condition, some highlighting. Used at book store = 85.00 Amazon = 20 + shipping Will sell for = 50 (its in much better condition than the cheap Amazon listings)
Professors: Mahoney, Dooley
I also have the supplement that I will give you with the book (no markings). 1-4224-1169-9 Used at book store = 19.50
Good luck!

Re: UVA Class of 2013
Some of the classes (two of mine) have a digital syllabus posted on the course list page. I guess you could use those to get first week readings. Some anyway.joeshmo39 wrote:It was posted in Slaughter down the hall from the book store. Very little was up though. I'm sort of pissed. Don't buy all the books... Buy the casebook and buy Forms & Functions of Tort Law (or whatever the Abraham book is named)...badwithpseudonyms wrote:Because 5 texts are necessary for Torts, right, O'Connell?

Nothing. Wait until you can't understand something in class before you start looking for supplements. You don't need to start with them.whoknows12 wrote:what supplements do people suggest?
