Eh, mine too. I already sent in my seat deposit though. In retrospect, that probably wasn't a good move. Why would they have an incentive to give me more money?holybartender wrote:My request for increased aid was also turned down. C'est la vie.

Re: Cornell 2013
So I wonder how long my decision deadline is extended to. The woman from the financial aid office specifically told me that I didn't need to send in a deposit until I heard back from there about my scholarship request. Now that I have heard back, I hope they let me know how much time I have to mull over this choice. Hmm, I just don't know if Cornell is worth the extra 70K if I really have no problem living/working in Boston, have tons of contacts there, can live right by my girlfriend of 5 years, etc.

Do you think they gave me more money because I played hard to get and withdrew? Lol that seems like a horrible thing for them to do.grandslam wrote:Eh, mine too. Re: Cornell 2013
I visited the Pam Johnson apartments during the third ASW. I was disgusted. They were filthy. They allow animals, so there was dog hair all over the stairs and common areas throughout the building. All the apartments I saw were weirdly shaped. If I don't get into Hughes, I definitely would avoid Pam Johnson.amichig wrote:Just beginning the housing search and have a quick question. There was someone (perhaps two people) at the last ASD that said not to live in a Pam Johnston apartment. Does anyone have experience with them as landlords? Anything horrible? Anything exceptionally good?
I've found a cute place with them, but am very hesitant given what was said over my visit. Your help is GREATLY appreciated!
(And for what it's worth, I'm doing the housing search from afar so a visit/meeting with Pam Johnston is not possible).
Thank you!

Re: Cornell 2013
also, I requested extra aid from Cornell and they bumped me up from $45,000 to $51,000. Seeing how people are turning down HUGE scholarships, I wish they had given me $60,000. But, it's hard to complain about free money.

Anyone ever wonder why cornell's website is lawschool.cornell instead of law.cornell? Only school that I know of that does that.

Because law.cornell.edu is reserved for the Legal Information Institute, Cornell's first-of-its-kind university-sponsored online legal database.Jericwithers wrote:Anyone ever wonder why cornell's website is lawschool.cornell instead of law.cornell? Only school that I know of that does that.

Re: Cornell 2013
Can anyone explain the housing application to me?
I called the admissions office this morning, and was told that the applications would be sent out next week.
But according to this thread, several of you have already received them and sent them back. Were you EA?
And is there some way to apply for Hughes online? (Considering Cornell's sites are incredibly frustrating to navigate, I could easily have missed it.)
Thanks!

On the Cornell housing site there is an option under the graduate student information in the apply page to apply without a netid.integral222 wrote:Can anyone explain the housing application to me?

Assignments for Hughes have started. Just got an email. (Yes I know what I said in the past about Hughes, but I wanted the option).

Yeah, whatever number before the L is the floor number. If you don't have an L in your room assignment then it's just on the floor. Hughes has a weird floor plan.CyLaw wrote:Is there anyway to decipher the floor that the room is on.cicely101 wrote:Also got my Hughes Hall room assignment this afternoon!!! I think it goes 1L, 2L, 1, 2. Don't quote me on this though! I'm going on what I observed while staying with my friend during ASW. I ironically know exactly which room I'll be in because my room is located in the same suite that my friend is currently in!
