Indeed, it's tethering. That said, I can usually only get 2-3 bars indoors at the Jeffersonian (both for Verizon and T-Mobile, and I'm told AT&T is about the same).

Tethering doesn't seem that fast, I wouldn't want to rely on it for a whole year.

$59.99 internets comcast. Damn them. Really tempted to stick w/free Jeffersonian internet and do better things with the $60... Are there any other non-comcast options?

Also, Comcast right now offers a Free Ubee modem after mail-in rebate and a D-Link DIR-601 Wireless Router (free after rebates) + a 30-day free trial to Real Superpass. (you must sign up for the trial pass). Both are $59.95 and $40 upfront, respectively. I don't know if I'd wanna pay Comcast upfront for these...still debating (bought a Cisco/Linksys modem and router for $100 or so from Amazon this past week)...

Right here: --LinkRemoved-- -- $19.99 first six months/$42 or so after, is for current cable customers AT THAT RESIDENCE. If not, it is what I mentioned above. The first rep I talked to didn't know what she was talking about. I called later, and two reps confirmed that the price is as above for new/non-cable customers.

Yes I believe that the return yard scoring is too much and it's going to make the league pretty up and down and unstable. I'm fine with just no return yards. It's really a taste thing, the league I've been in is really standard scoring. I'm fine with the QB scoring mostly, we should just recognize that it is a QB heavy league.

As far as drafting I'm cool serpentine or I'd go auction. We should do it live if we can I'm sure someone will have a centrally located apartment and I'm willing to bike or whatever. Maybe we grab some brews.

Yea, we should definitely do it live. I'll throw out my 1BR Ivy apartment as a potential draft locale.

Ivy would be great. A live draft would be ideal, the only problem is that if one person doesn't show up it ruins the whole thing. In high school (before my league moved all over the place) we did an auction draft, which I always really liked.

I will put the return yards down to 0, no problem. The only reason I have had it like that in the past is that with IDPs it makes it kind of interesting to see if you want to gamble on a DB who returns punts but may not get many tackles; or even a mediocre WR who returns punts, things like that. I'll go ahead and put it to 0 though, honestly I'be been burned by that before so no problem.

It's set up and included. Just plug the ethernet cable into your computer and you'll be good to go.

Those guys were right. Big grad center perk: no fussing with utilities at all. [FN1] You just pay a flat utility fee on top of monthly rent, and there might need to be a squaring up after a year if you took 10 showers a day while cooking on your electric stove or something.

[FN1] they replaced our internet service while I was there, and that was a lot of fussing. Hopefully there will not be any more fussing.

Hey guys...I already posted on this topic, but now that it is so close to the date that we arrive I thought I would re-post. We really, really need help moving some of our big heavy pieces of furniture into our new apartment. 2. Sam's Club (a warehouse store chain owned/managed by Walmart... it's like a worse version of Costco from what I'm told... there's a Sam's Club in Charlottesville) is having an "open house" Friday, 08/06 through Saturday, 08/08. They will not charge the 10% non-member fee on purchases during that weekend. 3. Although they haven't started registration up yet, both the Harris Teeter and Kroger in Barracks Road Shopping Center offer 5% discounts on purchases (excluding alcohol, tobacco, and lottery tickets) if you register your store-specific shopper's card with them with valid UVA ID. They should start registration up sometime in August. You should also consider signing up for Harris Teeter's "e-VIC" newsletter thing (they send you emails) since you can sometimes get pretty good deals (and the coupons are automatically "loaded" to your shopper's card).
