I haven't read through all of the responses yet, but before I type up any kind of review all I can say is

Which one of you knows about Brazilian law?

I didn't meet anyone from TLS. Wilco concert blew my mind. So much awesome stuff in Durham/Chapel Hill. Went to two concerts, ate at Coopers and Allen and Sons, had fried green tomatoes, six bars, met a lot of great people at Duke Undergrad and UNC.

The only thing I found annoying was people were TOO friendly at times. The second day at lunch I was hungover and sleep deprived and wanted to eat alone and barely made it thirty seconds without 5 people joining me at my table and having me introduce myself. I guess its not necessarily a bad thing, and I know everyone was nervous and wanted to meet each other, but some of you Dukies need to better understand social cues.

Overall it was an awesome experience. Loved the campus/faculty as well.

So any TLS-ers can remember me if I did meet you, I asked the question in the student panel about how the recession may have impacted the atmosphere of collegiality.

That guy kind of made my weekend. I was just sitting in the back laughing. But all in all one of the best ASWs I could ask for. And downtown Durham wasn't even close to as bad as I had heard. I didn't even have to head out to Chapel Hill.

I was staying with a couple of friends who had come down from Greensboro, and I didn't want to be boring and tell them I needed to go to sleep early because I had woken up at 3:30 A.M. to catch a flight. So despite having had a really good time, most of the trip I was deliriously tired and cranky

I also met a Sooner who I swear is on TLS, but maybe that is because I have seen a Sooner on here and I can only imagine there being a handful of OU fans who would admit to it outside of their state.

+1. I'm still exhausted and actually got sick on Saturday. Lack of sleep, constant talking, and never-ending activities, when added to a long drive and stress about the decision, have all worn me out. Jericwithers' first conversation with me went something along the lines of "Hey, you're thickfreakness!" "groan, grumble, yeah hey whatever I need coffee." I felt like everyone I met was most definitely worth meeting, especially since there's a decent chance they'll be my classmates in the fall. Still, the ASW was definitely not a vacation and having to work 9 hours today is going to be pretty rough.

Get used to the constant events with little to no rest guys... that is what law school is like too.

If you aint reading, you are listening to a guest lecture, or out drinking, or getting your job applications in order, or meeting for a student organization, or in class, or...

Still, it is a blast. Wouldn't trade it.

You obviously have not met enough people from Oklahoma. Perhaps the most proud, unabashingly biased people in the country. Visited William & Mary last week, saw three people wearing OU shirts in one class-I doubt there were many more Okies than that at all of W&M.

FWIW, I'm pretty sure I'll be in Durham next fall, but I can't in good conscience write the check until after the Vanderbilt ASW. I promised myself that I would give both schools an equal shot by going to ASW for each. Honestly, I made this commitment more because I really was set on Vandy and wanted to see Duke before my final choice, but then Duke blew me away this weekend. Having already visited Vandy once, though, I feel like there's not much that could change my mind.

Wow. That's an incredibly useful link. I'm sure it was included in the mass of paper they've distributed, but it was the first time I've seen it. I just printed about 15 different places to consider for next fall.

I'm just waiting to see how the leasing cycle works here in Durham. In Austin you can get good deals by waiting to the last minute, but I am not sure if that is similar in Durham. Leasing agents say that April 15th it gets crazy, but all agents say things like that. I will be scoping Craigslist for the next couple of months, as for 2011-2012 I wont be staying in my current apartment and trying to find a roommate. Pinnacle Ridge got fairly good ratings on that website, so it is good to see that they just weren't putting on a show when we visited.

Does anybody know when would be a good time to start negotiating on a scholarship? I read something about a "negotiation period" on here, but is that a formal timeframe or is it just a general guideline?
