So is anyone bringing a dog? Forest Park seems like it would be super accommodating.

+1. The Cardinals run that city from April to October.

(Cubs fans: Notice I said October? You know, that month that we are usually still playing in, while you are at home after either winning 70 games and finishing 15 back or after winning 90 games and getting swept out in the first round?)

Here's hoping for some Rockies/Cardinals action in the playoffs... to remind me of home.

Also, was anyone successful negotiating scholarships? Sorry if it's been mentioned but I'm not one to parse through pages and pages of unrelated discussion like that above.

I still have not received a reply to my email to negotiate and its been about 2 weeks now. I'm getting worried so I'm thinking of calling and asking soon but I also don't want to piss them off.

I just want to let you all know that I am slightly upset with the general lack of enthusiasm in this thread. This may be due to the fact that a lot of people still haven't committed so I'm willing to hold off on completely passing judgement until after April 15th.

WUSTL is an awesome school and STL will be a fine place to live for at least three years. I want to see a significant increase in the use of exclamation marks (!) and emoticons.

Thanks.

But seriously, I was going to post something along the lines of "I need more people to post here because I'm excited for the fall and I have a lot of free time that I could devote to reading this thread."

I'll be excited if they take me off the hold list. WUSTL is pretty much my first choice (tied with Illinois, where I am waitlisted).

I'm visiting both campuses next week. I hope that will help to break the tie. I have numbers that seemingly should get me in, but I applied very late due to the February LSAT.

I want to do biglaw in Chicago right now. I know WUSTL is a slightly more nationally prestigious school, but Illinois kicks ass in Chicago.

haha I love this, I can pretty much echo this sentiment.. lots of free time! Also I am super excited! Although I'm a little stressed about finding a new place. I went to undergrad only 3 hours away from where I grew up so that was super easy, this time will be a little more difficult!

Your visit to the campuses will break the tie, trust me. Illinois, while a great school, is in an unexciting (some may say crummy) buliding across from a cemetery on the outskirts of the UIUC campus. Anheuser-Busch hall, on the other hand, is flippin' awesome and it is right in the midst of WUSTL's amazing campus. I liked UIUC, but it wasn't even close in comparison to Wash U.

Has anybody who went to ASD heard how WUSTL is doing with 1L and 2L summer placement?

I figured as much. One of my best friends lives in St. Louis, and he raves about the campus. So I'll already know someone in the area.

On the other hand, I used to live in Chicago and have a lot of friends there, and UIUC is close enough for frequent weekend visits.

UIUC has some great labor Law Resources though...it's what I think I want to practice right now because I have an HR background.

With that said, I haven't been admitted at either school yet, so I might not have to make a decision. Part of my visit is also to show that these schools are my top choices.

I'm definitely looking forward to attending in the fall! I'm from California, and I'll be making my first visit to St. Louis next week to visit the campus. I was hoping to take in a Cardinals' game, but, ironically enough, they'll be in San Francisco :(.

Not to be creepy, but I think I know who you are from the facebook group. In which case we came from the same undergrad and I echo your sentiments about being farther away. But the city seems really cool! (Cooler than my hometown for sure!)

Also more emoticons and exclamations!!!!

Haha. It wasn't that hard... if I'm right at least. Tbf, I think everyone could figure me out too. I haven't been very withholding with my info.... oops...

Unfortunately, my identity pretty obvious too... (never thought about that when I made the account)

SUPER EXCITED for the fall tho!! ;)

And no, I still haven't heard anything final from them about my negotiation other than the canned email they sent out previously. I feel like they're cutting it pretty close considering most other schools' deposit deadlines are next week if not earlier.

Just visited WUSTL this past weekend and loved it. Much better feeling than when I went to UIUC. Hope to get the ball rolling on figuring out housing soon.

See everyone this fall!

I'm glad everyone is getting pumped for WUSTL this fall! Also very glad to see that we held our ground at #19! And now only one point behind USC too.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
