Bummed I won't get to make it next weekend since I live on the West Coast. I hope someone posts all about it when they get back!

Anyone send in your deposit yet? If so, how did you go about doing it (just check, or check with letter explaining purpose of check)? It's odd to me that we haven't received a package yet with any forms to fill out...

Thanks Dani -- please keep me updated! At the January ASD they said we'd have it in a few weeks...danidancer wrote:+1. Definitely asking about this on Saturday!LaurenGayle wrote:It's odd to me that we haven't received a package yet with any forms to fill out...

Sigh. It's especially concerning b/c on the website, they mention needing to return enrollment materials by July 6. Maybe they're waiting to send this stuff out until after the April 15th deposit deadline, to save on costs thinking there's no need to mail giant packets to people not really interested in attending?LaurenGayle wrote:Thanks Dani -- please keep me updated! That makes sense, but I just find it weird that they would say they were coming two months ago if that was the plan. Also, you would think it would be more enticing to people on the fence if they received some sort of mailing...danidancer wrote:Sigh. You would think... For as much as I love Fordham, they seem to be really understaffed and disorganized. Coming from a small liberal arts college with a truly awesometastic administration, I'm really not looking forward to dealing with Fordham's bureaucracy...LaurenGayle wrote:That makes sense, but I just find it weird that they would say they were coming two months ago if that was the plan. Agreed. I think the school is great but the lack of communication is frustrating. Hopefully that won't be such a big issue once we actually GO there.danidancer wrote:You would think... I'm 100% with you. "Saving costs" is an unacceptable excuse, because I paid around $70 to apply, and shipping is easily covered by that fee.danidancer wrote:You would think... That being said, I'm still going to be attending Fordham. It's like being angry with your child for not doing his homework. Yeah, the little shit shoulda finished his math homework and turned it in. But it's not like you're going to put him up for adoption because he didn't.
I guess that analogy sorta sucks. Thankfully it's time to start a long weekend- maybe my brain can come up with something better on Monday.

Completely agree with you guys. Seems like their attitude is "you need us more than we need you." Very frustrating when my girlfriend is going to be attending a lower ranked school, and is having her mailbox overflowed with materials.tesoro wrote:I'm 100% with you. Jeans are kosher. The 'over' dressed people wore business casual (though even that didn't seem out of place), under dressed t-shirts and in the middle were the jeans and sweaters/button-down shirts people.
If I'm recalling correctly that is.

Yeah, I definitely wore jeans and a nice shirt. It isn't fancy at all.lietx3 wrote:Jeans are kosher. The 'over' dressed people wore business casual (though even that didn't seem out of place), under dressed t-shirts and in the middle were the jeans and sweaters/button-down shirts people.

Also, I kind of loved the math homework analogy, tesoro

Rosa Mexicano is right across the street and is realllyyyy good/upscale mexican. otherwise, there are plenty of american/italian/asian restaurants right nearby and most have al fresco dining.dmcbride wrote:Anyone have a suggestion for a good dinner spot near the Law School?
