I totally agree! It was really fun. It was cool to play the role of "lawyer" for an hour!romothesavior wrote:The negotiation competition was a lot of fun!

Re: WUSTL Class of 2013
I'm a 2L at WUSTL who is very near the top of my class. Don't let the fact that some people are spending 12 hours a day in the library in September psych you out. Most of these people are just spinning their wheels on their way to an early burnout. First semester at this point last year all I was doing was keeping up with my daily assignments/readings. If I had to do it over again, I'd have spent more time throughout the semester working on my outlines so I wasn't completely slammed come the last few weeks. That being said, there is no reason to bury yourself in the library at this point in the semester.dudnaito wrote:seriously. that was my first extended stay in the library ever, and there were... a lot of recognizable faces, and i don't recognize that many faces. I'm scared. I'm used to being above average, by which i mean right above the 50% mark, but this may be a challenge.Oban wrote:Fuck man, i was on campus round midnight last week to catch a show(best coast) and i walked past AB to get to the metro, i kid you not there were kids in the carrels. I could see em through the windows. Le Sigh.
Do your reading, pay attention in class, and review any supplements of choice (but no more than 1 per class). And if you can, try and spend a few hours every now and then updating your outlines so you're not completely slammed come finals. Following this regime is all that is necessary in the way of study to do well at this point in the semester. There's plenty of time later to kick it up a notch or two.

How does a school with a bazillion dollar endowment that charges 40k+ a year have such crummy internet sometimes?

Who else is doing the networking events this weekend? I'm looking forward to it. Best case scenario, you make some goodcontacts and have some insightful conversations. Worst case, free food/drinks!

Re: WUSTL Class of 2013
I haven't even started my memo yet. I don't really have to hand in my rough draft until Friday, though. Our professor said 11 pages max for the discussion section, and with 14-point font double spaced, that's not going to take me more than 5 hours.
Instead, I've "substantially performed" on my Contracts outline tonight, and I'm going to take care of Torts tomorrow when I wake up. I'll worry about the memo come Tuesday/Wednesday. I don't want to be stuck doing outlines over Thanksgiving break. That's a good time for some practice tests
I'm lagging way behind in Property, but that's okay because that class just plain sucks.

The courtyard is surprisingly empty for the night before the 1L contracts exam... are my fellow students really so well prepared that they feel comfortable taking the night off? I admit I'm surprised, I thought this place would be packed...

Happy to be finished with half of one 1L, no more worrying about contracts or property, unless of course i get a jerb as a lawyer, but the odds of that happening are very high...
I'm getting the heck back to Cali tomorrow, have a nice break folks!

Oban, I have yet to figure out who you are. I think I know almost everyone else.
Anyway, good luck to all and don't get too piss drunk tonight.

Re: WUSTL Class of 2013
Anyone know when we get our grades exactly? I know it isn't until mid-January-ish, but is there a date that they've told us? And do they roll them out once profs have them up, or post them all at the same time?
This is going to be a long and stressful wait.

Re: WUSTL Class of 2013
From what I've heard, it seems like we will be able to see our individual grades as professors turn them in (probably on webstac), but we will not get the distribution of grades until the end of January. I think that most LP professors turn in grades by the time we return to school. Other than that, mid-January for the other grades is about all of the information I've gotten as well. And I completely agree about this being a long and stressful wait....

Sections A and C have grades for Contracts posted...I guess they'll start trickling in now. But Greenfield is a machine.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
