Awesome, see you guys there!Sakura3210 wrote:clintonius wrote:I have not gotten loan info yet, either.
And Swift looks like a decent enough place. I've been to Ulysses', which is down in the financial district and owned by the same people, and I like it. Objections? What time do we want to meet up? I'm off work at 5:30 and can show up around 6 or so.Sweet! So Swift at 6 on the 25th?BaiAilian2013 wrote:^^I think that sounds great! Meeting around 6 sounds like a good idea too, since it sounds as though it fills up more as the evening wears on.
It rhymes...must be fate
And, yeah, the medical package seems to have been delayed...

They were really late with that last year, too. I wouldn't worry about it.mockstar wrote:Still have not received that medical information that we were supposed to get in "early June"...

If we all wore our NYU Law t-shirts we would not only recognize each other, but also look really cool and probably cause envy among our fellow barmates.BaiAilian2013 wrote:Hm, how will we recognize each other? Anyone want to exchange mobile numbers via pm or something?

Re: NYU Class of 2013
Has anyone else gotten this little ad/info type letter from NYU about buying insurance against the loss of our tuition and board if we have to leave in the middle of a semester due to illness or accident? It doesnt cover anything else (natural disasters, family illness) and costs 500 dollars a year.
It sounds like its just a matter of deciding how to wager... shall I pay 1500 over three years on 250,000 of debt and income used up.... or shall I bet that I WONT get meningitis or hit by a bus. How are you guys gonna play it?

Yeah, I asked my mom about it. She said they have two life insurance policies on me, so if I die/become incredibly ill, etc. they get a substantial payout.wildflower wrote:Has anyone else gotten this little ad/info type letter from NYU about buying insurance against the loss of our tuition and board if we have to leave in the middle of a semester due to illness or accident? Hahaha that would make me avoid pissing them off : P But ..seriously.. my understanding was that no one really recommends life insurance on anyone unless that person is a breadwinner...I am a little confused why they would feel the need. Maybe your familys just a little insurance-happy.Stanford4Me wrote:Yeah, I asked my mom about it. I have about 40k of undergrad debt in my parents' names that will be transferring over to me post-LS. I actually kind forced them to buy a policy on me...I didn't know they had two though.wildflower wrote:

To y'all who are going to the meetup -- would somebody be able to volunteer to show up a bit earlier than 6 and try to steal us a table? Or do we even want a table?

My UG roommate and I (also going to NYU Law) would be down to meet up with everyone and hit some bars/hang out during orientation. PM me or something if you're interested.

Ugh, so I woke up this morning really sick and am not feeling any better as of now. So I almost certainly won't be able to make it tonight, sorry guys
Hopefully we'll have another meet-up when I'm not puking my brains out.

I just called admissions and they were able to tell me whether they had received it. Have your LSAC number handy if you don't have it memorized by now.jersey09 wrote:hey everyone when you sent in your final transcript and college questionnaire form did you get any sort of reply from nyu saying they received everything? is there any way to check online? thanks!
