Business casual, which admissions told me includes shorts/polo combos. Tuesday is the service day, so I'd imagine we can do work clothes. I may start with slacks and a polo Wednesday and gradually move towards golf shorts and a polo later in the week.
And no Steph, I believe they moved it back to 9:30. It was originally earlier.

Just thinking about computer use on campus.
Is there free wireless in the law building? At my undergrad in order to use the campus wireless you had to take your computer to the IT dept etc. Can I just walk in and use the wireless interned in AB hall?

The original schedule listed registration as 8:15-8:30 (now listed as 9:30). It also listed the health and wellness and other random stuff talks as 9:00-11:00 (then 10:00-11:30, now 10:00-11:10). The changes go on throughout the schedule (including accidentally listing the class photo as "class of 2012").
Basically, if you haven't looked at the orientation schedule in a while, you should probably go ahead and take a gander.

Yeah, there is. There's a secure network but I don't think they've given us the codes yet (I tried my Webstac username and password and it didn't work as of 2 weeks ago). There's also a "WLAW Guest" that works for anyone. I've used it before. Prob won't bring my laptop though, since ALL of my profs prohibit them in class.
See you all tomorrow.
Romo, what a nice post. I wish everyone the best as well. It was great getting to spend some time with everyone.
Who is fl0w? Only 2 black guys out last night so I have a 50/50 chance of guessing which one you are.

The entire campus is wireless. Real easy to get connected.

How do you know that they all prohibit laptops already? Have they posted syllabi on MyLaw already or something? Only one of my professors has posted first week assignments and none have posted a syllabus...

First of all...that's frustrating, so you have my condolences.
Second of all..."I" am frustrated, as none of my classes of syllabi or assignments up. Argh!
And add another to the full suit list. Tuesday will be 'way' better.

Actually, I'm in the latter category... I don't have any of my syllabus info up either. But my roommate will definitely appreciate the condolances! He was pissed.

F1 -- DeGeest, Mandelker, and Tamanaha
It's at this point I should hear things like "Oh...they're great!" Preferably when meant.

I don't mean to sound like the pessimist/slacker here but what exactly is the point on all the reading for for the orientation courses? I plan on doing the reading since I don't have a ton going on this week anyway and I need to get in the swing of things anyway but do I need to take notes etc. on the reading? Is this stuff we need to remember?

The orientation reading is not graded, but you could get cold-called by a prof. Other than that, there really isn't any penalty.
+1. There's exactly nothing preventing some nice early cold calling. I don't think it'll be anything serious, but I'd have certainly done the reading.

Haha so maybe just skim through the reading so I don't look like an idiot if I'm called on? Got it.
Do buses in STL go by a given stop every fifteen minutes?

Which stop are you referring to? I think every 15 minutes or so is correct, but there are detailed Metro Bus schedules online.

I was just looking at the gold line times online and it looks like its about every fifteen minutes. I was just checking to see if this was typical.

Also did not notice the change, and really because of my schedule I will probably get there around 8:00 anyways -- I'll be the lonely dude reading .pdfs on my laptop.

Nice to see fellow F1's in here- havent met any yet.
That is a lot of reading for fake classes. Don't think I'll stress about it.

What readings are people talking about re: orientation tomorrow?
Also does WashU have tennis courts and if so do we have free access to them? I'd be down to play. I'm decent I suppose.
Has everyone bought all their books already and if so how?
Are there intramural sports such as baseball/softball or anything of the sort?
And the consensus is suits tomorrow?

1. They are located here:
https://law.wustl.edu/orientation/pages.aspx?id=8182
2. Yes, they are located right next to the school. I'm not great at tennis, but I love to play it and I'm always down.
3. Go here: --LinkRemoved-- and enter the code for each class (found on your course information on Webstac). You should also check websites like Amazon and compare prices.
4. Yes, but I don't know all the details. I'm definitely up for getting involved.
5. Yes, suits are what admissions is telling people.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
