Re: NYU Class of 2013
FWIW, my boyfriend is, by total coincidence, living around the corner from D'Ag on Sullivan St. When he moved in last month, he had no trouble stopping a van on the street. Of course, there weren't hordes of law students trying to do the same thing...

Re: NYU Class of 2013
NYU is going to tell you not to double park because they probably catch hell for it. I'm reasonably sure you can get away with it anyways, as long as there is enough room for cars to go around you. What you should definitely not do is pull partially into a driveway and block the sidewalk. I learned that the hard (i.e., $115) way last year.

Re: NYU Class of 2013
kk... I have compiled a list of everyone's stated availability, which I can update as people clarify...
Rock of Love: 21-25 of June
sarahdutta: free last weekend in June (25-27?)
Sakura: until the 28th of June
legalnoeagle: open; weekends of (June?) 19th and 26th are best
lsathalon: July (anytime in July?)
BenJ: open; not June 23rd and perhaps not mid-July
me: open; not the 11th-14th of June or last day of July
clintonius: open; in town up to June 26th and after July 5th
ayeshabelle: pretty free for most of June
facetious: open; not June 26th/27th
fahd.reyaz: open; rest of June and most of July, probably not July 5th or July 11th
So, looking at those with the most constricted availability, I thinkthree four three meetups could accommodate everyone:
-one while Rock of Love is in town - June 21-25, which is Mon-Fri - unless, depending on travel plans etc., this can be merged with
-one the last weekend of June (25th-27th) - easy for legalnoeagle, sarahdutta is free, Sakura now still in town,
-and one when lsathalon is here in July (when?).
In logic game terms, floaters: ayeshabelle, clintonius, BenJ, facetious, fahd.reyaz, and me.
What do we think? Also, did I leave anyone off the list?

I'm out of town June 26 through July 5, and am otherwise around and down for getting shitcanned networking.

Wow, good job BaiAiilan! I shouldn't be leaving before the 23rd, so no trampling issueBaiAilian2013 wrote:kk... I have compiled a list of everyone's stated availability, which I can update as people clarify...
Sakura: until the 3rd week or so of June (would that mean you are leaving around the 13th, or more like the 20th?)
The only major problem I see with this is that, depending on how late Sakura is here, it probably tramples on legalnoeagle's 19th/26th preference. What do we think? Also, did I leave anyone off the list?

oh boy, i've missed a lot in this thread. must be since i can't access tls at work
i'm working in the city this summer, so i am free for a meet up (except for june 26-27th weekend, i think). also, does anyone know what the time line is for grad plus loan apps? do we wait for nyu to send us stuff or is it something we apply for on our own? i'm a bit confused...

Dear 1Ls,
All your names are up in the picturebook, so I may not know you, but I know your names.

So, I'm trying to remember...was the envelope included with our enrollment docs (the questionnaire, etc.) addressed to the admissions office? I may have lost it...

Let's pick a date and finalize our get-together. What kind of venue are we looking for? Classy or trashy? I know of places for both options.

There is a lonely 1L in the Picture Book. I'm gonna play Where's Waldo with him on our first day.

Anybody else like Demetri Martin's "word of the day" idea? Buzz-word bingo is a good one, as well.

I'm going to say the 25th looks best. Place - I don't care, so long as it's affordable (no more job=not a heck of a lot of moneylegalnoeagle wrote:Let's pick a date and finalize our get-together. What kind of venue are we looking for? Classy or trashy? I know of places for both options.
