I did a little bit of legwork and go 15K a year. Its a shame that Cornell is nearly 10K more than most other schools. That sort of offsets any difference that small scholarship makes. Then again, housing is less expensive in Ithaca than at most city schools.

I called and they said my scholarship file was one of the few they held over from last night. No offer till Monday, which is starting to freak me out as that will only give me about 10 days to make a decision

If I remember correctly I think someone had a UT scholly last year and they got some extra.

Make your decision now: how much will it take to get you there?

Then go with your gut when you get the offer. You can't really know for sure until you see the number, but if it's lower and you still want to take it, that's gotta mean something.

Ok, "legwork" might be an overstatement. I went and spoke with some people in financial aid face to face and told them how much I liked the school. I figured this personalized meeting couldn't hurt, and I also submitted documentation of all my other big scholarship offers and acceptances. Without letting them know of my other offers, I'm sure I wouldn't have gotten anything.

Yeah... my only other scholly offer so far (in fact, my only other admission) is to the local state university. And I already withdrew from the finalist position for their full-ride scholarship after depositing at Cornell. Makes me wish I'd applied to a few more T20 just to open up the possibility. :/

does anyone know if there is a deposit form cornell requires to accompany the actual deposit? i'm not finding anything on the admitted students website.

also, do they require you to withdraw from pending applications and/or other schools to which you've been admitted?

i sent in the first deposit with just a short letter. they cashed the check, so i assume that it's all good.

I don't think so. Last year I got an additional scholarshipin June, specifically called a merit scholarship.

I don't think so. Last year I got an additional scholarshipin June, specifically called a merit scholarship.

At this rate I will be calling the Fin Aid office asking for my award letter and annoying them everyday till June

Yes, and I am calling them constantly about it lol. Have you tried calling to see if they have completed it and will email it to you?

If they don't get back to me tomorrow, I'm going to call. I e-mailed them about it Friday afternoon, so they may still be sifting through e-mails.

So I called and they had completed my award letter and said they would email it, but I am still waiting for it. Oh, the torture of waiting!
