There better be a big crowd waiting underneath a "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED" banner with bottles of champagne when I turn this thing in. The marching band and cheerleaders are optional.

then we get to wait for the semi-arbitrary grade that we will get! Yes!fathergoose wrote:There better be a big crowd waiting underneath a "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED" banner with bottles of champagne when I turn this thing in. The marching band and cheerleaders are optional.

There was no champagne, why was there no champagne.
And Kinko's really is pop copy from the Chappelle show. There were three of them sitting down doing nothing and they told me they were too busy and it was going to take 3 hours. Preposterous

The only thing worse than spending 50 or so hours working on a legal writing project and not finishing until 11:30 the night before it's due? Finding out at 1:30 in the morning that the non-functioning retard who did the binding left a page out of some of the copies and having to drive 25 fucking miles to Plano to the all-night Kinko's in the middle of the goddamn night to watch Dan, the guy who isn't good enough for the day shift at Kinko's, try and figure out how to undo the bindings so he can pull the page out, copy it, and then insert it into all the copies.

I looked mine over one last time and realized that I had left out the argument summary section. I had to type that section, redo the tables of content and authority, print the 88 pages, and have the fucker re-bound. However, the dude at the Kinko's by campus was all over it, and the whole debacle only took around an hour.kalvano wrote:The only thing worse than spending 50 or so hours working on a legal writing project and not finishing until 11:30 the night before it's due? The summary of the argument sucked. I couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do.
Also, so did making the TOA and TOC. Apparently, when they made those videos, there was no "identity of the parties", so the number kept getting thrown off.

If they grade with very much weight given to those tables, a lot of our score will be based on how well we can use Word.kalvano wrote:The summary of the argument sucked. I couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do.

After finding out the moot court competition will in no way affect our grade, my effort level on that stuff just went to -17%.

Bummer. Didn't you know there is a 24 hour Kinkos on Greenville? Bound my briefs (for the second time) at 3am after finding a typo. Only took 10 mins each time.kalvano wrote:The only thing worse than spending 50 or so hours working on a legal writing project and not finishing until 11:30 the night before it's due? Fairly sure if you turned something in that remotely looked like a brief with research you wouldn't have failed. A C maybe, but as my civ pro professor says "we don't fail anyone".kalvano wrote:Actually, I do know what's worse. Not catching it and having Cashen fail me.

I could give you a pretty good idea about how Crespi will run his operation....fathergoose wrote:Anybody know anything about the difference between Crespi and Norton for BE?

Crespi said he is very heavy into math, but otherwise runs it just like his Contracts class.

Does anyone know how the financial aid system works for next fall? I re-filed my FASFA in January but what else do we do? Do we automatically get the same loans or what?

Oh, and does anyone know when we get our grades back? I've heard mid June-early July.

I would assume exactly the same way as it did last semester - slowly and inefficiently.tinyone wrote:Does anyone know how the financial aid system works for next fall? I re-filed my FASFA in January but what else do we do? Do we automatically get the same loans or what?

Sounds about right. It took about 6 weeks last time. God forbid SMU make the law professors act submit to the requirements of the other grad programs and have their grades back within a reasonable amount of time. My wife is in the Education program, took her final on Wednesday (an essay final), and had it back, graded, on Friday.
