So I think I got everything straightened out (like 2 weeks before classes hehe,) but I still haven't heard anything about these GoCard apps outside of this thread. Where were you guys asked to submit these photos, was that by e-mail or snail mail?

With work study do we get paid weekly or something?? I have wondered about that for a while now. Anyone find any jobs? I may just switch it over to loans and try and find a part time job some other way.

Re: GULC c/o 2013
Just tallied up the cost of new books for my classes from the bookstore: 589.70 (maybe another $30 book depending on which LRW section). It was actually a lot less than I was anticipating!
So there's my lesson, expect to pay $1,000 for books. That way, when the total ends up $600, you feel like you're getting a bargain.

Books I keep forgetting about - yeck! Anyone in town this weekend or next week and want to say hi? I'm section 3 and live about a mile from the school.

Edit: Also, our TLS meet up is tentatively scheduled for Monday, Aug. 23, at 4:00 p.m. at the Rocket Bar!

Hey y'all, I'm an incoming 1L as well (I know, I'm late to all the TLS fun).
Can any of y'all tell me why my financial aid amounts differ between MyAccess and my Student Account Services? If so, which one should I be expecting (hopefully it's MyAccess since it's higher)? Thanks for the help guys!

Hey! Someone created a section 3 Facebook page and we've talked about having a meet up sometime this week. I think the page is called "gulc c/o 2013 section 3" or something like that. Let me know if you can't find it.johndhi wrote:Just dropped a bit over $1000 at IKEA to (almost) furnish my new placeBooks I keep forgetting about - yeck! I have the same problem. I'm calling on Monday - I'm just not sure if I should call the registrar or financial aid.Muddy wrote:I thought I read where someone had asked this previously, but can't find the page. Mine is completely different. I emailed both the registrar and financial aid and they said that the amount on MyAccess is correct.Burberry by Burberry wrote:I have the same problem. Not a big poster on this board, but thanks to everyone for giving us less-knowledgeable incoming students great information.
Is anyone out there an ice hockey player? I play on a team at the rink in Arlington, VA and we're looking for players for the fall/winter season. Games are only on Sundays and start no later than 9:00pm. We play in the top league, so the guy who organizes the team prefers players who had some experience playing either varsity or club hockey in college (although it's not mandatory).
The rink is very metro-accessible from the orange line, and I'll also have my car so I'd be happy to drive if need be. I've lived in three different neighborhoods in DC the past three years, and it's been about a 15-minute drive to the rink from any point.
Just send me a message or post a reply if you're interested, and I'll provide you with more details.
Thanks!

Are you going to be shipping directly to your mailing address at Gewirz? Anyone else doing this? I've got around 5-6 relatively large boxes as well, so I hope they have room for my stuff and hold it, haha.iamtaw wrote:im going to be shipping about 5-6 boxes. usps seems to be the cheapest. I read in the Gewirz packet that you have to sign within 24 hours if you're sent packages, and you can't start sending until Aug. 19.js87 wrote:Are you going to be shipping directly to your mailing address at Gewirz? I've already had some stuff from Victoria's Secret sent to that address, though it shouldn't be arriving until after we move in, so it should be fine. I'm an online shopaholic, the Gewirz package people are going to know me very well.starrydecisus wrote:I read in the Gewirz packet that you have to sign within 24 hours if you're sent packages, and you can't start sending until Aug. 19.js87 wrote:Are you going to be shipping directly to your mailing address at Gewirz?
