It's pretty dead in here.
Is mid-Feb around the time when we'll hear about merit scholarships?

I know I cannot find it either and it is due March 1st. Are they aware that February is a short month. That really is not alot of time. Hopefully it is not too comprehensive.oneforship wrote:I don't see it on the admitted students site.Dtackpat75 wrote:Has anyone been able to find the yellow Georgetown Financial Aid form we have to fill out.

I was wondering the same thing. I hope that we don't have like 1 day to fill it out.Dtackpat75 wrote:I know I cannot find it either and it is due March 1st. BTW, got accepted a couple of weeks ago, and I'm pretty sure that I'll be Georgetown Class of '13! Hey!

I sent them an email abou this. They apologized for the delay and said it was taking longer than expected. But that the form should be ready in the next week or two and that the March 1 deadline would get moved back.

Anyone around that has some experience with the DC area? I just have some questions about housing (ie what areas to avoid, how easy/difficult it is to commute from certain areas, etc.)

I work in DC now, live in Northern VA.Torvon wrote:Anyone around that has some experience with the DC area? I just have some questions about housing (ie what areas to avoid, how easy/difficult it is to commute from certain areas, etc.)
Personally, the commute to GULC isn't that bad, as long as you are on the red line of the metro. Check out http://www.wmata.com for a map of the metro rail system, and you can see what areas are near the red line. I wouldn't go any further west than Dupont Circle, or that will start to be an uncomfortably long commute. From Dupont, it's probably 20 minutes by train.
There are lots of apartments in the Chinatown area, which is pretty close to the GULC campus.

Excited to see a thread for this! I was ED so I'm def going and honestly can't wait to move to DC and get started. Also, thanks for the info about the yellow FinAid form; I was beginning to worry.

I'm excited to see this thread get going! I was ED so definitely will be at GULC in the fall. I am fairly sure I am going to live in Gewirz. I am 22, right out of undergrad, and won't know anyone in DC so the social aspects of Gewirz appeal to me. Anyone else planning on or considering living there?

Re: GULC c/o 2013
Same for me. I'll be 22 when I start law school, also out of undergrad. I don't want the stress of searching for an apt or a roommate (especially since I'll be spending the summer in Italy and I won't get back until the beginning of August). I think Gewirz is my best option, plus the idea of having no commute makes me salivate since I've been commuting to Manhattan for 3 years.gators88 wrote:I'm excited to see this thread get going! Edit to say that I haven't 100% committed to Georgetown yet, but I'm fairly sure that's where I'm headed. I'm waiting to hear from one other school I might consider, but I am going to the open house in march at Gtown and I think that will seal the deal for me.

Also, it looks as though the first finaid deadline has been moved to March 8.GULC wrote:**The Yellow Form will be available the week of February 22nd. The Office of Admissions will be notifying all admitted students when it becomes available.*

Hmm-- not sure! I've gotten "big bucks" (lol) from other higher-ranked places sooo...hopefully? Because I do like georgetown. They asked in the interview what kind of offers I had from other places, so I mentioned them and I guess we'll have to see ^_^Havaianas wrote:Jeally - Do you know what that means? You can log in to the finaid system now from the admitted students site from the financial aid page. You'll have to create a userID, etc.

Re: GULC c/o 2013
So I've filled out all the financial aid forms that are currently available (seeing as how that's the only way I"ll be paying for law school) but I'm wondering if anyone has found or knows anything about when the financial aid is actually disbursed. I read on the website that it's when classes start, but do they literally mean the day of classes starting or can you get your loans and stuff a week or two before?

I don't know where to find the yellow form. I'm logged on to the financial aid site, but the only clickable links are for LRAP. Help?

I am pretty sure the link is in the admitted student website. Either on the forms section or the financial aid section.letsgojayhawks wrote:I don't know where to find the yellow form. I'm logged on to the financial aid site, but the only clickable links are for LRAP. Help?
