I swapped some emails with admissions today and thought I would post their response (paraphrased) to my questions- hopefully this is helpful to anyone else with similar thoughts.

Q: What exactly does “maintaining satisfactory progress” mean?

A: progress means good academic standing or not failing any classes. In terms of a gpa, probably something around a 2.3.

Q: Is there an Admitted Students Website?

A: At this point we do not have one. We will either be publishing a site or a facebook page in the next few weeks.

Q: Should admitted students forward an updated transcript?

A: You should send your updated transcript to LSDAS. They can update us with an electronic version.

Via email exchange with IU admissions, they are "considering" giving stipends for ASW aka Spring Law Day. I think they're just going to pay for some people they really want, not everyone.

I just did some extensive online research into housing options in Bloomington. Results: if you want to pay $800-1000/month, you can get great housing blocks away from the law school. If you want to pay $600-700, you can get a little house or pretty nice housing 15 blocks or so south of the law school (there are pretty decent bus routes). Cheap, fairly crappy housing is available northwest and far east of the law school campus at about $400-500 a month, again with bus routes. HTH anyone.

I didn't really do a full manuscript or anything. I disregarded 90% of the places I looked at for one reason or another. What I do have is a six-building finalist list with at least one place from each of the aforementioned groups. But these are purely narrowed down based on my preferences.

No problem. Some of the people who said they would be going have been a little down on IU in recent weeks, so this pub crawl might be smaller than initially thought, but it should still be fun.

Halibut, if you could get some pics of the campus in general, downtown Bloomington, and maybe some of the neighborhoods, parks, etc. around campus that would be most helpful. One of the things holding me back from IU is my fiancee's reservations about Bloomington. If it was just me, I'd be all about the quintessential Big Ten college town atmosphere.

I'm in for the bar crawl.

I talked with Dani Weatherford in admissions today. My visit is all set. I'm very excited! I'm touring the IU campus on Monday, as well as looking at apartments. I have my law school tour and class sit-in on Tuesday morning!
